2 weeks ago i had a shop make me up a test pipe. I was hoping for better mpg. It didnt happen. Sh*t stayed the same. Added power? Yeah, for sure. I didnt put it on the dyno or anything but the butt dyno gave a definite thumbs up. In my Audi days i also had a test pipe. Dyno proven, 15awhp gain with the test pipe. I dont think the 4Runner picked up that much due to it being N/A but there was a definite gain. If i had a supercharger it would be a bigger gain for sure.

At first we did it up with no resonator. It was pretty bad. Both loud and it sounded like sh*t. We then threw a 24" resonator in it. It completely cleaned up the exhaust note and was not excessively loud. Barely louder than with the cats. Paired with my Jardine exhaust it sounded damn good.

Thats about it. I have never read anything on this so i figured i would take a shot and see what happened. I guess for my wants/needs, this mod has no benefit. I dont care about the truck being fast, if i did i would run a supercharger. So...... i took it off today. The cats are back on. I need to smog the truck this year anyways. Haha.

So if any of you out there have a Cali model 4Runner or Tacoma and would like to get as much power out of your rig as possible, The Test Pipe is FOR SALE. (http://www.ultimateyota.com/index.php?option=com_smf&Itemid=26&topic=3877.0)

Couple pics of the test pipe.

Definitely, the price of the test pipe will go up a little though. Working on my rear bumper today and tomorrow. Hopefully i will finish it up this weekend. Then the truck will up for sale.
