hey all, a few of us was talking about people and business stealing or taking pictures from online places, forums, and websites, is this even legal ? :headscratch:
more importantly, why, would someone of a business do it ? :shake:
Im sure most people (myself) included, would be honored, if someone wanted a pic of my rig, and would give them any pics they wanted, if they asked.

if a pic of yours is used without your consent, especially for a commercial purpose (they make money off the site your pic is on) it is illegal, and you can go after them for it. you'll need to prove that it is in fact your pic.

did a pic of yours end up on a site somewhere where you didnt give permission? id kindly let them know...and if it bothers you that its on the site, ask them to take it down, or you'll seek legal action. they should comply immediately, especially if they know they're in the wrong.

If the picture is copyrighted or trademarked or legally registered to you and somebody else uses it without your permission, that is illegal; what I don't know is that if you post an un-copyrighted or un-trademarked, does it become "public knowledge" or "public property."

This is the case with patents, at least as far as I researched them. Patents: If you have a brilliant idea for a product and present your ideas in a public forum, you have 1 year to submit the patent paperwork before the idea becomes "public knowledge" and you can no longer seek a patent.

just something to keep in mind...
