Recently changed the 3rd and now it's getting noticably hot? Is this an issue or not?

Yeah, it's quite normal.
Any part w/ gears will get, at a minimum, warm under most conditions (maybe not here when it's -20).

Mine gets pretty hot. Which is good since gear lube SUCKS at lubricating at cold temps. I would guess about 160-220 deg F to be the min before it starts working at top performance.

Pretty warm here around 200+ down the road but a little cooler when in the crawl. I don't know what kind of oils people use. RedLine here.
