In short, this was my problem.....http://c4x4.com/new_projects/funrunner/media/Tire-stuff.jpg

Now this is my problem....http://a845.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images01/125/l_2f14109f9af87ca6ed1c438b4c309294.jpg

I thought I would save some money by buying some used fiberglass fenders online for my Gen3 4Runner. So I did. Turns out that the angle of a 4wd corner-lamp and a 2wd corner-lamp are different. :headscratch: I decided I would just pick up some 2wd corner-lamps off of ebay for $10 to fit my new/used 2wd fenders. So I did. Turns out the 2wd corner-lamps, that now fit my fenders, don't fit my old 4wd headlights. :( So do I buy 2wd headlights hoping that they will fit my 4runner and therefor fit my corner lamps that fit my new used fenders? :headscratch::confused:
I feel like I'm throwing good money after bad. Who has experience mismatching fenders, corners and headlights. What fits with what? Thanks in advance for your help.

Steve,

I think you have a combination of problems here, all related to (possibly) aftermarket parts. Can you verify:

1) is your fender (quarter panel) an OEM toyota part?
2) is your corner lamps a OEM toyota part?

if no to both, there's your problem. i know there have been some reported fitment problems with non-oem parts, esp body panel parts. also, there is no such thing as a 2wd corner lamp and a 4wd corner lamp. for example, i took my headlights and corner lamps off my previous 99 2WD and put it on my current 98 4WD.

i didnt know toyota made OEM fiberglass fenders for wider front track vehicles.

are we sure its for a 4runner and not a tacoma?

1. so, what was your problem again? too much suspension compression causing tire/fender contact? the easiest thing to do would have been to limit the upward compression with a ever-so-slightly taller bump stop on the lower arms.

2. again, no such thing as 2WD/4WD marker lights or head lights. they are all the same.

3. looking at the fenders - and i'm no expert on them - i would guess by the body line that those are for a tacoma, which would also explain why the marker lights & headlights aren't lining up like you'd want them to.

The question is: How do I make Hannemann Fiberglass fenders for a Tacoma fit a long-travel 4Runner.

well the fit everywhere else but the headlight/marker light correct? if you are good with fiberglass like i am not, then just cut and fiberglass in the stock marker light.

if you are like me, i would go about tracking down a tacoma marker light. which i hear wont work with the 4runner headlight, so i would modify the marker light to fit.

put your fender back on, and get a bigger bumpstop, and to help minimize your losses, I will graciously haul your tacoma fenders out of your way, and help you get on with your life. :) You know, like a true friend should...

You may need to do some fiberglass modification because those fenders are meant to fit Tacoma markers and headlights. If you switch to Tacoma parts then you'll have trouble with the hood on the 4runner against the headlights. Easiest thing is to just modify the aftermarket fender.

Yes, they are for sale. They are stamped as Tacoma fenders, I was told by a body/fiberglass guy that I could make them work for a 4runner. The inside is "rino lined" in black as well.
Thanks

Glassworks is the only company that makes fenders that fit the 4Runner, with that said, I do have an extra left front fender, if you want it let me know. Free just come pick it up.......
It's painted white and came off FearToys departed rig...

Right, that is my question. What headlights will go with the taco corner lights and the 4runner grill.

http://www.hannemannfiberglass.com/Toyota_4-Runner%20&%20SR5.html Hannemann makes 4runner glass as well.

the answer: none. the corner lights, headlights, and grill are all unique to the vehicles. if you have tacoma fenders, then they will only mate up with tacoma corner lights, which only match the tacoma headlights, and they will only work on a tacoma with a tacoma grill.

I have the glassworks on my 2001 tacoma, and recently got a 2k rnr lmtd. Not only are the obvious fenders, corners, headlights, bumpers different, also the hood is different. Just thought i'd add this as swapping fenders from my taco to the rnr was something i had considered.
