Here's some shots of my weekend trip to Pinyon Wash with the boy. Great weather - the flowers are probably 2 weeks away from blooming but should prove rather good for 2008. Enjoy

Looks like a fun trip, man I love our deserts.
How old is the little guy, must seem like the worlds biggest playground to him.

A couple years ago I took my brothers on a weekend backpacking trip through Pinyon wash, over Pinyon mountain, down around other side of the mountain and back up the wash. Its a really fun area. The only thing that wasnt fun was carrying a weekend worth of water. :hillbill:

Alot of historical stuff went on there way back in the old days. In the late 1880's this guy named Harper tried cattle farming in a basin now called harper flatts. He left all these water collection tanks and wash dams in the slot canyons and water falls south of Pinyon mountain. There is also the tin and rock shack he used to live in with his wife.

Where did you guys camp at. I'm definitely looking forward to going out for the desert bloom this year. Its going to be amazing.

Did you guys camp back in the wash somewhere?

If your a relly careful observer you might see mountain sheep back there. I found a dead one in the canyon once.
