Last week I had swapped out my A340E to an A340F out of a 98 Tacoma. Everything is bolted up, wires plugged in, and ATF lines connected.

The ATF is leveled but once I start up the engine there is a knocking/clicking noise coming from the transmission...somewhere between the bellhousing and transmission oil pan :chair: I can get it into all the gears though.

How many clicks are there supposed to be when lining up the torque converter? Would anyone know if the torque converters and flex plate are the same in both transmissions?

Thanks guys

Sorry, I can't help, but that is going to be a bitchin' ride with 4wd for this years Pismo 4rj. I can't wait to see it bombing the dunes.

Got this problem solved :tongueout:...the knocking/clicking noise was attributed to a broken stator inside the torque converter. Swapped out the bad one with another remanufactured one and its Alive.....only to have another problem arise :spank:

Would anyone know if the shifts points are different on a A340E and A340F and the ECU differences? Would I need to swap out mines to a 4x4 ECU?
