anyone have an idea on a wiring harness or if it would remotely work. i have the stock cd/tape deck from my 98 taco, and want to put it in my 86 runner.

thanks,
J

as long as you have the connector that plugs into the back of it & you know what color wires go where, it should be no problem

Any news or updates on your progess jjrgr?

I am looking at doing basically the same thing from my '04 Taco to my '84 Runner and swapping a Scion Tc Radio into my '04

You should be good to go when you find the correct adapters. You'll need the aftermarket wire harness that would allow you to connect a aftermarket headunit to your oem plug and the other one which will plug in the factory radio. You can find them all over ebay.

ebay #320040917655 Radio wiring Harness OEM Toyota Scion TC 04 05 06 2006

ebay #320040928355 Radio wiring Harness OEM Toyota Tacoma 00 02 03 04 2000

I've done it a couple of times :hillbill: as I had a couple of factory cd players laying around.

*Chris, side note:

If you press the center button on the Scion decks it changes the audio pattern for the different vehicles.
~Try the XB setting, wider dispersement and bass, great for the 2nd gen 4runner, so should do similar in yours.

Sorry for the slight hijack:

Shane do you have pics of a scion deck in a 2nd gen?

toyota made a harness up until 2 years ago, but their heard to find now. the colors are different for the 86 harness to current. so it's a no go for me.
