...I swear! I had my eye on an item that I really wanted. I waited for days to bid so as not to run up the price. The whole time I waited, I mused about how cool it would be to have this thing and how useful it would be. I placed a bid 3 minutes before the close and refreshed the page every 30 seconds to see if anyone bid higher. I kid you not, some stinkburger sniped the item with under thirty seconds left and I couldn't bid fast enough to recover it.....CUSSWORD!!!!!
I know about placing a maximum bid blah, blah, blah......I am a cheapskate more than anything else :hillbill:
What a pisser.

www.auctionsniper.com
you can set your max bid to be entered/transacted 3 seconds (default) or less automatically, so you'll get your bid in and not run up the price. nor do you need to hang out until the auction ends
please use me as a referral (bobkim@4runners.org), oso i cnan gets some free snipes!

hehe, I usually wait til the last second for my bid to get posted. I have the analog clock open on my computer, hit refresh repeatedly. I have another window open with my bid ready to be placed and time the bid placement with how fast the refresh occurs. I've gotten to the point where my bid gets in with only 1 or 2 seconds to spare....

I always wait until less than 20 sec. left before I bid. I have been sniped before too so now I am the sniper.

thats whats so great about auctionsniper and other programs like that. sure, you pay a fee, but think about it: youre probably bidding on something that youre going to save some money and it probably doesnt come up that often. id rather pay a small fee to get it, still save money, and not take a chance that my computer doesnt respond in the last 3 seconds (has happened!) to me initiating my bid. just my 2 centavos

I gotta admit that I've been the sniper with 10 secs or less to spare many a times.....but if you snipe, you gotta expect to lose a good portion of those too. Sniping is getting a bit out of control now and also takes alot of time to pull off so I've been more likely now to just bid the price up early and then you often scare off alot of the snipers at the end (ie they see a fair market price and decide it's not worth the time to snipe).

Gun broker has a 15 minute rule. If there is a flurry of bidding at the end, the auction stays open 15 minutes after the last bid is placed....

Cripes man, and I thought I was up late, it's like what, almost 2am there???
You're pulling the night shift now?? Cool, I'm not all alone in here. ;)
Not to stray O/T here, but how's the Runner, update your thread man!!!
*We need inspiration on the 90, I'll try to get "clicky" tomorrow.
BTW, what was the "Cool", "Item to be cherished"??
Sometimes I can't sleep, so I cruise the net...
I haven't done a dang thing on the runner all winter. I start it up and drive it around, butI haven't worked on anything.....I blame it on global climate change:hillbill:
The item in question was gun related. Just an accessory not often seen for sale.....dang.

I fancy myself an Ebay sniping master. Usually post my bid with 15-30 secs left in the auction
One shot, one kill.
