Hella 500 Installation Question

Hey I got some Hella 500s today and my friend and I just finished installing them. They work great I really like em. However, he wired them into the power coming from my head unit and now when I flip the switch for the lights, the music shuts off, but comes back on after about a second and resumes playing where it left off. This doesn't really bother me because I wont be flipping the lights on and off but does this sound like it will hurt anything? Thanks

someone correct me if im wrong here, but the increased electrical load on your switched 12v line (the one that goes to your stereo) is being consumed by your lights. thus, the solution is to get the power wire *off* your switched 12 volt.

in step 1, theres two wiring diagrams. i highly advise reading them and deciding a better way to wire your lights. write back if you have any questions.
