I just built this thing at work on saturday - yeah busy day. haha.
It's a 92 or so I think, but I didnt paint it or anything, just put it together the way it is, I am going to tear it down this coming week and build some tube bumpers for it, and repaint it - Body will be biscuit to match my '84 and everything chrome will be black, and probbaly chop the doors off and make some tube doors for it, and will also probably cut the top so it is removeable, and put a cage in it. I also have plans for a SAS.
Given it's 1/24th scale, those TSL's on there are 36/14/(somewhere around a 19" wheel)

Yes its labor intenesive, yes it pointless, but it should be fun, and alleviate those long evenings when I dont have anything to do to my ACTUAL 4Runner.

That is awesome! I have never seen one of these in the hobby shops - where did you get it? Did they have other years as well?

I got it at Hobby Lobby.
I bought one of every model they had.
They had this runner (a 92 iirc)
I bought a ...91 long bed pickup
and a ... 92-ish Hilux Double Cab pickup.

they are all a part of the "High Rider US" Series.

I will add pics here of the custom work on this one, and will start threads for the others as I assemble them.

They also offer these Low Rider Models which you could probably adapt with the High Rider suspension if you like one of these bodies better...

Looks pretty good....The only 3rd gen one I could find was from Tamiya 1/32 scale with electric motor.
