Toyota released pricing on these ugly bastards by tacking on an additional $100. I'm definitely not diggin the new xB design. The tC goes through a minor face lift and they still look pretty killer but the xB is just whack!

Scion announced pricing for the 2009 xB and tC today, and if you want to get your hands on the love-it-or-hate-it toaster on wheels, you'll have to pony up an extra $100 this year. The xB's base price is now $16,370 (including shipping), and comes equipped with a five-speed manual as standard equipment. If you can't stand swapping your own cogs, you can shell out another $950 for a four-speed automatic. The tC's price remains the same as the 2008 model, starting at $17,620 with a five-speed manual and $18,420 for the four-speed auto 'box. Sales of the xB begin this month and the "slightly tweaked" tC will arrive in May.

Scion's press release is available after the jump.

i rather like the new xb, very 30's gangster. but, they are far too heavy, and gas mileage suffers. plus the price went up. how is that suppose to help sales when your target is the youth market?

It's taken a while but the new xb has grown on me. Wouldn't buy one to replace our 2006 for some of the reasons seanz0rz stated, mostly the drop in mpg.

I was actually just looking at the Tc, and I was surprised that the 5-speed only got an estimated 20 mpg city which is only one mpg better than the v6/auto Camry and is one mpg less than the 4 cylinder/manual version.
