i run linux on everything but the carpc (no native turn by turn GPS system for linux, yet...)

Lance, I love mac's too. My wifes powerbook is a great laptop and they have are light years ahead on user interface. Plus I appreciate the unixy goodness under the hood.

OT - Sean have you checked out the eee yet? Just got my second one, it's putting linux in a lot of peoples hands who may not have even known what it was before.

as far as vista and xp...i consider vista just a prettier version of xp. i haven't had any significant problems with it, so i can't really say xp is any better for my uses.

i want a new eeepc 900 sooo bad, just dont have the cash right now, otherwise it would be sitting in front of me the day it ships.

as for vista vs xp, vista is like the windows ME to windows 98. a step forward sure, but it was a step forward off a cliff. hopefully upcoming windows 7 will be as good as xp was

vista is crap. there's no way i'll endorse that os! luckily all of my clients are pretty happy with their mixes of non vista stuff. sadly i can't get any of them to try the osx stuff... grrr

the new win 7 looks promising but until i see some betas i can test out i'm gonna stay far away from that junk :)

Yeah I would Def Compare Vista to ME, Microsoft's Biggest Mistake!
We had ME on our old Dell, The day I finally got mom to break down and let me work on the PC I installed Win2000 and the PC was great, Now it has XP, and once booted up it is pretty good.

I never had problems with WIN2000, XP not much since I got to do a lot of trail and error with it when we started updating our PC's at my old high school and we had to see what programs we could still play with.

As for Vista, I try to stay free and clear of, its on my stepmothers new Laptop.
If it doesn't have some update to install, it has some error that closes out of freezes the laptop...

Linux I have played with on my friends PC. I like it, I am hoping stepdad will relinquish one of his extra laptops or desktops for me to fiddle with it :-)
