first thoughts: it glides compared to the 33s mainly due to the chunking and low tread on the firestones, it floats like a boat now and i love the way it feels.

problem though, axle seals are leaking on both sides, Fort Collins 4x4 said something around 500 in parts and labor due to wheel bearings may need to be replaced due to axle seals? does that sound right to anybody

Talked to Issac and hes positive that the bearings are sealed and i would definitely hear some whining from the rear if they were going bad.

But he told me to ask for other thoughts (if i dont get much response here ill start new thread as well.

Blake 500 is a steal!
Cost me close to 800 for both sides on mine!

I don't know what the exact def of sealed is but there is an inner seal, the bearing, then an outer seal.
And I am sure since you have rear ABS that makes it even more fun!
I would have done the job myself but you need a press for the inner seal and bearing.
I was told it is usually recommended to replace the inner seal (which requires replacing the bearing) and the outer seal if the outers go.
I have read different though and people getting away with just the outer seals, My thought is better safe then sorry...
Do you have the diff breather?
If so how many miles are on the truck?

The tires look great thought. Truck sits really nice now!

A sealed bearing does not require greasing. It looks like a regular bearing, but the sides are covered with a rubber/plastic piece.

Here's the deal, when the inner seal goes, the oil permeates into the wheel bearing washing out all the grease. If you just replace the inner seal, the bearings will quickly dry out, causing them to fail. Now if your on a budget you can get the thick black sealed bearing grease and repack them without taking the assembly apart. I use a needle fitting on a grease gun to do the job......

Cool man.

Out of curiosity, what's the measurement to the roof?

Sucks about the seals...

ok this is interesting, i looked at my wheels and i looked at the drums and the backing plate.

he said he didnt clean that area, their isnt a drop of crap on the drums. and then i remembered, my idiot self spilt gear oil on the wheels.

measured it, 76.3" tall, in the front its around 75"

i think i have decided to go full float rear, and i wont have to deal with this crap anymore (inless someone says i do, as i dont know jack about it)

i took the wheels off at Bobbys house, the left seal is leaking worse then the right, some spray on my shock and gas tank skid.

i want to see how it feels with the 4.56s, so far i've had zero problems with the stock gearing, makes me wonder if i was blessed with a 4.30 but i doubt it. we should try and find a deal for two sets of 37s or 325s, i don't plan on getting any 17s unless i fall into them though

4.56 and 35s feels great, but i think 4.88s would be a bit better
