I have noticed a little weirdness with regards to the post counts on this forum (Cebby, I have cleared my cache)

Currently, as of now (840am May 2nd) I am seeing my current post count as displayed by my avatar as 55 (it may go to 56 after this post) however I know I have posted more than this. I look at all posts by me and it is 82 from the search feature.

I ask this because I started noticing a few days ago. After posting multiple times in a recent thread, the post count didnt change. Does the site only record new posts in different topics and not multiple posts in the same topic?

Just curious...

Thanks,

Posts in the off topic section dont count toward your post count. I am not sure if they do here in the suggestion box either, obviously not. It was decided as a forum we didnt need all the drama that comes with people to caught up with post counts, and then you get these guy with HUGE post counts *cough cough, Mike* (:ban:) and they get a superiority complex, and make life hard for others even though most of thier posts might have been in off topic, when this forum was set up, only the tech type areas count towards your post count, not all of the off topic banter and "sideline" forums.

As an example, using the show posts feature on myself, I show 1196, (now 1197) posts by me, but my official post count above my avatar only shows 831. This is because the rest of my posts were in off topic. If you need anything else, feel free to ask!

Sorry, did one of my loyal subjects mention my name? j/k

It's the whole OT section that doesn't add to post counts - that includes any sub boards under the main OT section.

The reason was as Chris said. My post count is primarily from the staff sections I think. SOMEDAY, I'll actually get my act back together and get to posting some decent tech!

I think staff section should be included in the off topic count as well, not towards you viewable post tech count.......
