Anything but the first weekend would work with me. That's the boys 8th b-day party.

You say this is somewhat equivalent to J Bull?

That would be awesome! Lets do it later in the month so I can have time to regear my t-case and maybe get some sliders.

Hey Zach, are you doing the work yourself? The T-case that is.

Yea I plan on it. I like doing gear rebuilds and stuff. Done a couple 13 speed truck Tranny rebuilds at work, I think a two speed t-case shouldn't be too hard. If I'm feeling really rich I might even go twin stick.

Thanks, love to go out once a month but with the price of gas these days I've cut way down on the day trips. Like to make a weekend or long weekend out of it to get the most out of each gallon. You SD guys have it made with good wheeling so close.

Most of my summer weekends are free right now so hopefully I'll make the next run.

blacksheep
05-27-2008, 05:58 PM

wifesaysimadumbass
05-27-2008, 06:54 PM
sidewinder and bronco peak are both rated really tough form what i have heard both are tougher than john bull but maybe someone else who has been there can chime in as to difficulty

A friend of mine rode bronco peak last weekend with his jeep group. I think he said that they did the trail in the up direction. HE told me that most of the group got turned around and only a couple built, long wheelbase rigs made it up, and I guess they were winching a lot too. That weekend it was pretty wet though.

Here is there trail report with some pictures. Its on pate 4. http://www.myjeeprocks.com/forums/showthread.php?t=11214&page=4

randver
05-28-2008, 07:57 AM
ok how does everyone feel about meeting at the Carls Jr on tavern rd at 7am then 4 corners at 8 for those that dont want to get up that early

Tankota
05-28-2008, 06:35 PM
We should hit up the local burger joint on the way up. Its called Fred's Burgers, and they serve a special burger called the Goliath burger. Its like 8 pounds. :hillbill:

I'd be up for pretty early. I like Mikey's idea, breakfast at 7 and roll at 8 or so.

I have ran both Sidewinder and Bronco Peak, and in my book there not difficult at all. Unless the rain has changed these trails. I ran it with stock land cruisers and they had tons of fun.

There is another trail that I forgot about the name out there. Its more difficult then these 2 trails, but I just could not remember the name of it. I will have to olook in my trail book.

randver
06-02-2008, 08:59 AM
mike everything is easy when you have a SA and 40s lol.

you guys decide when and where you want to meet for breakfast and i will update the front page.

blacksheep
06-02-2008, 09:28 PM
True, but stock land cruisers did these trails with ease. I have proof if needed. Don't make me do it..J/K

randver

well your about to have proof that a none locked 4runner is going to have fun on bronco peak lol

Tankota
06-03-2008, 08:06 AM
Isnt bronco peak much easier in one direction rather than the other.

randver
06-03-2008, 09:47 AM
from what i have seen on the internet i would say it is and i think i went the easy direction last time. which for my rig was still hard and fun.

I'm so ready to go wheeling! Especially that my crawl ratio just went from 43:1 to 90:1! :guitar:

Just installed marlins 4.7 gears in the t-case yesterday. Cant wait to try it out now.

I work just a little east of alpine now, and boy has it beeen hot lately. Everyone bring plenty of water and Gatorade.

Turns out I have to work (catering) this Saturday. Kinda bummed but at the same time I've been working all week in this farkin' heat and am looking forward to a break from it. Stand strong for the IFS crew and keep those CV's intact.

I know the run is over and it looks like you guys just ran Bronco Peak and Sidewinder, but I was thinking, has anyone with IFS ran the Bronco Peak Connector? Looking at all the pics on the link tankota posted it looks possible (well with lockers, a ton of armor and a winch). Just an idea...

randver

well with lockers, a ton of armor and a winch you can go anywhere.
