In the next few weeks, I'm going to be ditching my front 2.5" Daystar spacer lift in favor of an OME spring setup. After doing hours of research on UY and other sites, I'm still undecided about 882's vs. 883's. I'm running LC coils in the rear and want to match their height as much as possible. I've heard mixed reviews on the 882's and a huge variety of lift amounts (from 1.75" all the way to 3"). The concensus seems to be that the 883's offer a full 3".

I don't have any immediate plans for a front bumper, so that might figure in the equation as well. Any thoughts on either the 882's or 883's? Thanks for your help!

Also, in case it helps, I've got a new set of diff spacers from Fat Bob's Garage on the way.

From what I've read, you need a bumper/winch up front for 882/883s. I had 882s on my 00 4Runner with an ARB/M8000 winch with 890s (IIRC) in the rear and it sat slightly raked to the front. I think 882/883s will be too much for your CVs with no extra weight up front.

From what I have researched, the new 882's are a 395mm 500# spring and the 883's are 375mm 590# spring. If you are not planning on running an aftermarket bumper and winch the 883 may be a little stiff.

i have the 883's with the toytec top plate spacer and a custom front bumper that weighs like sixty pounds and i love the ride. and have had no cv issues due to the height (just a dump driving mistake). and i ran 35's with no body lift for three months with just minimal rubbing on the pinch weld with full conpression and full lock.

Thanks for the info so far everyone! Aren't you getting ~3.5" in the front with the 883's and spacer? What shocks are you running?
