Been here a little while and figure I should get a spot in the garage. I purchased my 4runner Christmas weekend of 2007. It's a '99 highlander edition and it had 84,000 miles on it. It has the 5 speed transmission and sunroof. As far as I could tell it had been partially babied and never taken offroad. The previous owners lived in the foothills so the 4 wheel drive was used on snow days.
I'm in the process of taking and compressing pictures of the work I've done so far, but below is a list.

Some may remember me from Pismo 4Runner Jamboree 2007 driving this (http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e13/mezamichael82/PA130199.jpg)
Less than 2 months later I bought this (http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e13/mezamichael82/DSC05466.jpg). Picture taken after a wash and running board removal.

Electrical:
-Constant 12V outlet mod
-Fog light mod and upgrade to 35w HID.
-Axillary fuse box in shifter tunnel for electrical additions
-Hard mount (ProClip) for Garmin GPS
-Dome lights modified. Front and rear have the factory bulbs switched out for Cree XR-e leds.

I was up late one night and made a visit to the UY store.
This (http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e13/mezamichael82/DSC06258.jpg) is one of the items I bought. As you can see I've used it already.

Just a few new pictures. I had just finished waxing it for the winter. Wanted to get all the little scratches out and everything clean. Not bad for 92,000 miles.

It's been a few months but I got the OBA installed. I used the NWPF mount to mount a York 210 compressor. It's all underhood and I have an outlet under the front bumper and rear bumper, combined with a 1/2 gallon tank near the spare tire.

Freshly painted compressor after a heavy cleaning.
http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e13/mezamichael82/DSC06316.jpg

Got the flanges modified and intake and outlet sorted out.
http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e13/mezamichael82/DSC06323.jpg

Top view of the compressor. I had to cut, tap and cleanup the flanges. From the factory they have an automotive thread.

Here is installed after a day of moving components around.

Added a filter and tank near the rear spare.

Built myself a skid plate to replace the bashed up stock one. It's all 12 gague steel and extends back past the steering rack.

Had some time so I thought I'd update the garage. The 4runner has 105K on the clock and I've owned it for a little over a year and a half. One of the new additions is the roof rack. This will allow me to haul more junk into the backcountry and my wife to bring home more stuff from garage sales. It's the same one that CYi5 has.

Added some lights for some night time driving. Got a smoke'n deal on a set of Hella 500ff's.

Added tint to the lens.

Also updated the headlights to the 21st century. The bulbs that came out were Kioto's so I'm assuming they were original (10 years old)because they left something to be desired.

http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e13/mezamichael82/Light%20Tabs/DSC07519.jpg

Hard to tell but they are a whole lot whiter and as a result, brighter.

UPDATE

I installed some 55w HID's in the Hella 500FF's and they are great. I have a few install pics but still have to get some beam shots.

UPDATE

The Rage roof rack wasn't fitting my fancy so I made one. It's stronger, bigger and sit's lower on it's own legs (no factory bars).

Threw a red Cree led in the map dome light. It's actually pretty handy and very bright. It's great for seeing around the cab while keeping your night vision. Thinking about changing the switch to a little push button but have to find the right one.

My 4Runner came with the factory fogs mounted in the bumper. These are made by Kioto and are similar to the the Hella Mirco DE. After market Mirco DE's are longer and the H3 bulb enters the housing through the rear of the light where as the stock Kioto H3's enter through the bottom of the light housing. The longer housing allows for an HID retro fit so I ordered up a pair of the lights and a 35 DDM kit in 4500K.

New housings. The lens say Hella on them where as the stock ones don't say anything on the glass.

http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e13/mezamichael82/Light Tabs/DSC07796.jpg

The bulb enters the rear of the housing and is covered by a large rubber cap.

http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e13/mezamichael82/Light Tabs/DSC07803.jpg

This is what they look like out of the box. H3 bulb held in with the typical Hella clip. I removed the clip and made my own spring with some mechanics wire. The clip doesn't work with the DDM bulb.

Finally got around to installing my 2m HAM radio. It's a Yaseu 2800m and decided to put it in the dash which means I had to figure out something with the CB that was there.

http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e13/mezamichael82/Ham/0811001626a.jpg

This unit has a downward firing speaker and I can hear it fine so until I need to I'm opting not to plug in an external speaker. The 2800 is a great little radio and I've had fun listening in on a regular basis to roundtables and club meetings.

I went for a mag mount antenna as my roof leaves few options for a hard mount. I went with Larson for the NMO mag mount, 1/2 wave and 1/4 wave whips. So far I run around with the 1/4 wave and it receives great. I haven't noticed better reception or distance with the taller 1/2 wave but it might be different once I start transmitting.

The TJM bumper has been nice. It has a much lower profile and approach angle which was nice at Pismo and recently in the snow. I was able to break trail without worrying about bending or breaking any plastic. The bumper and skid plate pushed over and packed down ice and snow. Our friends 4th gen drug a lot of plastic.
