I would say he lived a fruitful life. He was hard on his body, so 71 is a long life. I will miss his humor. :(

This saddens me to no extent....he was the greatest comedian alive imo and spoke only true words.

It's funny, didn't really like him at first, but as I got older, he started making sense. Seems like he lived a full life with no regrets.

I have know George Carlin since I was a baby (Talking 2+ here)
as Mr. Conductor on Thomas the Tank Engine.
As I got older I began to know the comedy side of his life.

He will be missed...

I guess I am one of the few people that just didn't get his sense of humor. Then again, leftist humor stopped being funny to me when the leftists became mainstream.
And pissing away personal freedoms is just not funny.

your not alone on this one Mogger. Although I share some of his views on religion this guy made a successful career out of talking/joking about how far we have slipped as a society yet he himself seemed to respect very little of anything. Seems like a contradiction to me. Perhaps he was a different person in his private life. I will therefore leave the grieving to those who knew him.

That is what I am talking about. He is fundamentally anti-American in his standup act. I don't know if this held true in his personal convictions but I would think it would be safe to say that it did. Yeah, you can rant for a while about what is bad about the United States and find plenty of Government Educated sheep to listen to you...But truth be told, this country has done more good for more people and countries than any society that has ever existed. Is it perfect? No. But it is the best the world has ever seen. Is it funny to me to hear an ill-educated SOB rant on and on about revisionist history? No, it is not.

Sometimes if you don't have nothing nice to say...don't say it at all. Have some respect for the deceased.

I don't go in for all of that political correctness crap. I had no respect for a live Carlin, why would I start now?

Maybe you should watch some of his standup acts. I have a hard time imagining he would mind given that he had no problem at all joking about his own death, or should I say "passing away" as he liked to call it.

I have watched every one and they never get old! He saw reality for what it was and still is.
