We finally get to close on our house tonight. Due to the turmoil within the lending industry, the underwriters' reaction is to raise the bar for qualification by adjusting the requirements for documentation, tightening scrutiny and deleting entire lending programs; a process that mutates daily. The result is that we have missed three closing dates over three weeks while our household remains packed and staged in the garage and we sleep on the floor and eat frozen dinners with plastic utensils.

I fielded a call this morning stating that we can close tonight and move tomorrow. IT'S ABOUT DURN TIME!!!! :chair:

The upside is that I'm getting a 20(something)'x30' shop that will allow me to continue my runner build

Congratulations. My wife and I went through the same thing as you, all the way down to the plastic utensils. I was having to unpack clothes, reschedule utilities, etc. It was a pain in the ass and after it I was hoping I would never have to buy another house. A few months have past and I'm over it but I think it'll still suck next time.

Yeah, we've been in limbo for almost a year. It'll be nice to settle in and move forward at a faster pace. Gotta build that savings back up. When all is said and done we will have dumped nearly the entire amount we had been saving for this. Now we have about six months of expenses left. We'll focus on filling that pot back up ASAP. Hehe, good thing I bought my suppressor before all of this occurred...

Congrats! I was wondering why we weren't seeing pics of your 4runner in your new shop.

I'm not looking forward to going through this process.

Congrats on everything finally coming together!

When we bought our house last year the loan process was pretty easy still, but we got jerked around with the interest rate. :chair: Now they probably wouldn't even lend to us, so at least we got our foot in the door :shake:
