I am a youth pastor and i am at the church most of the day. Just about every day we have people come in and ask for assistance of some sort. We have had to limit the amount of assistance and started giving out vouchers. (Electric, Gas, food, ect.) This morning i gave a couple assistance. They were 7 hours from home and looking for work. The woman was 5 months pregnant and was close to heat stroke by the time they got to the church. They walked a good portion and hitched a ride the rest of the way. I couldn't let her walk the 5 miles back so i gave them a ride to the hotel we put them in for the night. I got them two loaves of bread, a big jar of Peanut Butter, and some Jelly. I refuse to give money...
While i was out another guy came in and asked for assistance. He and my secretary cried as he told the story of his daughter and wife both having cancer and he was needed to get back to Louisville for her treatment. (we are 5 hours from there) We make copies of all drivers licenses of those who get assistance. As she copied the license she recognized his name. An email came through from a sheriff in KY last month. This scum bag goes from town to town and gives one heck of a story. He averages 1000 a week in assistance and cash. She went to another office and checked the email and it was the same guy. She was trying to reach me (phone was in the truck when i stopped to check on the new kiddo) then decided to call the police. 3 of our local officers read the email and then escorted the guy out of town.
I wish i would have gotten the call. This guy will have to answer to his actions some day. There needs to be a standard set for people who do such things..... The douche bag even had the balls to make a comment about how the sheriff in KY must have gotten to us. I try my best to see the good in everyone ,but people like him make it hard to do..... ARRRRRGGGG

Gilby, charity is ours to provide, should we be so inspired, regardless of how it is used or abused. We are commanded to help our fellow man within our means. That is it. You are well to have done your part and the reward is yours.

When our sacrifice is abused or disgraced, we are naturally disappointed. But in light of the true nature of charity, the real faith has been excercised. Trust me, yours is not the only sacrifice denied in this world.
