Claire and I got back from Dah U.P. yesterday from two amazing days of wheeling.

We drove to Marquette and camped over night. We had a gnarly rain/thunder/lighting storm around 4AM. It was cool.

The group wheeled from Marquette to L'Anse. The rain turned some of the trails into a bit of a tobagan run. We actually got some tailgate damage when the rear slammed down coming around a sharp right turn with a deep rut half way through.

We then drove to a camping spot way on the north end of the U.P. near coper harbor. The trail there was fun. The views were incredible.

The next day we wheeled south and ended up at Gay Beach for some sand wheeling. From there Claire and I left the group and spent the night in Houghton.

Anyway, I'll let the pictures do the talking.

Northern Explorer and UP Cruiser did an incredible job leading 20 trucks on the trip. Those guys deserve much thanks.

Cool looking trip but body damage sucks. Looks like Illinois is treating you well. Couldn't help but notice you've down sized in the tent department since Pismo last year.

 The Pismo Dome was cracking me up in that wind.

Looks like you guys had a blast, great pics. The pics of Claire pointing to the dent are hilarious.

What, no pics of Claire catching huge air!

On a side note: How do you like your MC rear bumper? Was it the bumper that flexed up and hit the tailgate? Just asking because I'm thinking of picking one of those up. I like how you're able to keep the spare underneath with it.

Looks like a great trip, and hey body damage isnt all bad, they say the first is the hardest. :) After that it just gets easier and easier, which is probably why my 84 looks like a tin can. :)

Great pics! You a MT Huskie? I was born in Hancock and left for Pgh when I was a wee lad. I don't remember anything but a lot of snow there. Looks like beautiful country.

Sorry for taking so long to reply. Well I'm not a Husky but when I was up there in March inspecting MTU's Equinox they gave me a shirt.

Yeah that old tent was large and crappy. It fell apart. Fortunately Costco took it back.

I now wish I had an 80 series Landcruiser for this expedition stuff. Those things are cool.
