it's an used unit didn't come with any paper work, only have 2 bolts on each side and probably needs more.
the frame end caps were cut off from the weld. althrough all the bolts were tightened down pretty good, it still has a little play when pushed, it happens between the braket and frame, bracket and bumper connections are rock solid.

Has your vehicle been in a front end collision? Was the bumper? I think it should bolt up fine and tighten down without moving.

I'm leaning towards an ARB bumper as I can no longer find a supplier for a TJM. The grill and brush guard parts just look weird to me. I think that if I can find a used one I'd chop them off.

Looking at the first image, it looks like your front bumper is slightly pointed downward. Has this 4runner been in a front end collision? It could be the reason why the bumper is not lining up correctly.

I recommend that you remove the front bumper and check the frame mounts as the factory bumper frame mounts are known to be pretty weak.

Mike, I may have a lead on a TJM supplier soon. I'll let you know as soon as I find out.

Me thinks it's time to pay a visit to Bruce. :D It seems like there should be a way to get it tight and straight.

I agree with Mike about the brush guard. It still looks good how it is, but without it the front bumper would match really well with Bruce's bumper. I wonder what it would look like if you hacked it off and had a brush gaurd made that was more like how the prerunner lightbars look? Kind of more angled forward and not up and around the headlights. Just throwing out ideas, it might not look good.

Oh, and I got the winch panel and clam chowder $$ today. Thanks and I owe you $3.

Cool let me know when you do. I was planning for the whole thing and when I decided to pull the trigger TJM decided to pull out, like 3 days earlier. My best chance in getting the bumper will before 2009. I've got a baby on the way and the wife wants to redirect funds from the 4runner and my projects. I've been trying to tell her I need something to put my winch in as it's been sitting on the garage floor since I sold my truck (don't want her to think I wasted that money too).

you def. need ATLEAST two more bolts for the bracket to frame, and possibly up to 4 for each side. i have 4 bolts per side and its welded on now, so mine is pretty stout... perhaps you just need to get it welded on...

the bumper was definately in an accident before because one of the mounts was cracked and i had to use the BFH to straighten part of the top. notice the buffers are gone, in stead i bolted on couple stock rear bump stops i had left over from my lift. ARB wants $35+sh for each for each buffer.

my instructor at school tig welded the broken bracket for me that's why it took me so long to have the bumper installed. for me the weird part was after the frame end cap were sawed off, what would be the next? there is a little play between the frame and bracket, no play between bracket and bumper, there gotta be more than just 4 bolts for the whole bumper.

yeah, i spotted you the moment saw your truck on the on ramp. pretty cool to see your rig in person. very nice.

i re-installed the bumper yesterday, added 2 vertical 4-1/2" long 1/2" bolts, that killed the play and with the help of a Hi-lift, the tilt is minimal now.

see ya at pismo.
