New owner here... just had a quick idle qustion.
From a cold start... what's the average time it takes for the truck to kill the choke and come down off of high idle? I idle around 1500 RPM when cold... and normal idle settles at 800 RPM or so.
I only get to normal idle after driving down the street... have yet to see it "kick down" on its own.
I read a bunch of old posts regarding the IAC valve and TB cleaning... I'm guessing I need to start there?
Thanks all...

Welcome to UY.
As far as kicking down I think it all depends. My first truck would do it but it wasn't a Toyota and it was older. Even when it isn't cold it takes me until the first stop sign for my engine to sound like it kicks down. In actuality I think it is the engine building oil pressure and the fan clutch catching/disengaging. My regular warm idle is around 700-750 RPM. My first trip to the desert gummed up my IAC valve pretty good. When I would start it would kick over, run and then immediately die. I would have to turn it on about 3 time and rev the engine to get it to stay on. There are a few right up here. I think mine might have the Toyota part numbers you need.
If yours is starting fine, not dieing and idles around 700-800 you're fine. Depending on how many miles you have you might want to look into cleaning your MAF sensor and maybe doing to the IAC down the road.

Start by cleaning the TB first, then MAF then IAC.

Thanks for the replies fellas...
I ran 2 tests yesterday and just let the truck idle for a bit, it takes about 5-8 mins for the idle to "kick down" from choke to normal idle.
I'm completely fine with this and I don't think there is an issue, just trying to learn what the "normal" operating parameters are.
I will probably clean out the TB this weekend after seeing some of the pictures on the boards.
