Well i've been doing a few things to my 4runner. Got some new tires, shocks and got alignment done. but i've been thinkin about doing things to my interior. It could really use some attention with all the cigarette burn holes from the previous owner and the torn up driver seat.

I've heard that Scion XB front and back seats are a pretty good conversion for 1st and 2nd gen 4runners. anyone ever heard about this or seen it done? gimme some feedback :)

thank you.

Never heard about the Scion seats. In high school all the guys that had toyota trucks with bench seats swapped them out for Celica bucket seats.

yeah. theres a 4x4 store here in california thats about 15 minutes away from me. but i was told not to get anything there unless im getting something small. so someone directed me towards scion TC and XB interior. hows the celica interior look anyway?

i swapped in some seats out of a '90 4runner into my 91 pickup to replace the bench:

they bolt right in which is cool.

the MR2 seats I had in my 1st pickup fit really nice, I only had to fab up one bracket for the outside rear mount, otherwise it was straight bolt in. Those seats had adjustable lumbar, the forward part of the seat bottom was adjustable for height, and the "wings" on the back were adjustable for lateral support . . . very comfortable and overall seat height was about the same (didn't feel like I was sitting on the floor of the cab)

these are similar to the seats I had

I had an 87 Celica GTS, +1 vote for those. They were THE most comfy factory seats I've ever sat had.

Some guy back at SE4RJ last year had a 1st gen pickup with seats out of the newer Celica GTS. I didn't get a chance to sit in them, but they looked super comfy. The owner said they were great too. :D

Seats out of an integra, civic, crx or accord also fit btw.

I always fancied trying to see if these ford focus sport seats I sat on in a friends car could work. Talk about comfy!
