As of last Friday, I finally joined the 35's club. The 35's complete my summer list consisting of new 4.88 precision gears, a front ARB locker (already did an elocker swap) and tires to complement the gears. I originally planned on getting the 315/75 KM2's, but they were on national backorder for a month or so, so i went with 35x12.50 Nitto Mud Grapplers. I have had minor rubbing issues due to the face that these actually run 13.4" wide rather than the 12.5 they advertise. I already have 4" backspaced wheels and they only rub when turning hard, so I plan on adding a 1/4" spacer to hopefully relieve this.
I only have a crappy cellphone pic, but will try to get some better ones soon.

They look good.... They look HUGE, but good. I am waiting to join the big boys club till I get chromoly shafts. :) But I do have a set of 38" TSL's in the garage waiting... :)

Wow those look beefy. Say good by to your fuel mileage :tongueout:
I think thats the first time I've seen those tires on a wheel less that 20"s. Around here everyone puts those on their lifted Tahoes with retarded 22" bling bling wheels. They definitely look better on whatever wheel your running.

question would a 35" tire fit on my 97 4x4 stock suspension?
there is a set for sale with rims for $400 but I'd hate to buy a tire that would be to big with out a lift.

no, you would have a difficult time putting 285/75r16 (33x11.5) with out a lift.
general rule for 35's is a 1.5 inch body lift, with some minor trimming. and of course everyone does this with a suspension lift (which technically doesnt allow you to run a larger tire, just gives you more travel)

I will most likely run the TC upper arm with a bolt in Coil Over. I just sold my Ranger and plan to build this like I had my ranger, but for now just need some thing just a wee bit better than stock for offroading.
here's a couple pis of the truck I build from the ground up.

i would love to see 35's with just a 1.5in body lift with only "minor" trimming.

minor as in the jeep guys end up cutting massive amounts of sheetmetal out.

so your saying minor would be tubing the front? anything that involves just regular and tools that anyone average joe could use is considered minor to me... anything that involves cutting, welding, patching, ect that takes experience to use is considered more that minor to me. but thats just my opinion... i had to do minor things to my runner to clear them 35's (bound the pinch weld to hell).
