I have a stock 99' 4 runner and my rear suspension seems to be lower than it should. I've noticed other 4 runners, especially older models that have major sagging in rear suspension. I also pull a trailer alot with my 4 runner. What do I need to do?

Any help would be great!

you have severla options, one of my first peices of advice, would be to search around a bit, as this topic has been covered....

That being said....

You can go with a stiffer, taller coil in the rear (such as LC80 springs) or you can try the airbag approach, as many others have done. I dont have to much information on either one, but if you search for keywords like LC80 lift, or PP springs, or Sonoran Steel, or even airbags, then you shuold get some good advice, and I am sure others will chim in here as well.

i would get a slight lift with the OME (old man emu) 881's in the front and OME 891's in the rear. they will hold the weight great!!!

If you're looking to lift and stiffen the whole vehicle look into one of the Sonoran Steel spring lifts. My '99 was sagging and I wasn't ready for the lift yet. I ordered up some Air Lift air bags and they're working great. I've had several 1200 pound loads in the back of the 4runner and towed ~2000 pounds with no problems. I've also wheeled some with them and had no problems. I put 20 psi in them about 3 months ago and not touched it. There is still 20 psi in there and the rear is slightly higher than the front. The bags were around $80 shipped and were installed by myself in about 45 minutes.

Andy (Bamachem) had this setup on his old 4runner (sold) but if you want to check out what it looked like here's his old for sale ad:

Bamachem's 99 4runner (http://www.ultimateyota.com/index.php?option=com_smf&Itemid=26&topic=1561.0)

This is what he used:
FZJ80 Rear Lift Springs (from the front of a Land Cruiser)
FZJ80 Rear Shocks (OEM) (total rear lift is approx 3.5")
Airlift Outback 1000 Air Bag System
Airlift Compressor with In-Cab Gauge and Controller

Here's a write up on the Airlift 1000 (Outback) with In-Cab Controller Installed:

He towed his boat quite a bit so hopefully he'll chime in with his experience on a rear lift solution. The airbags in the back appears to be your best bet.

First of all it's a very common problem on 3rd gens......

If you want a mild lift, then have a look at my setup in my signature.
You can also see the before and after pics on my garage page.

I also put airbags in the rear and would recommend them as you said you pull a trailer. Mine are the Firestone Coil Rite that go inside the coil. Easy install as well.

I strongly agree and second MasterWIII's recommendation.

I really needed a set of Coil Rites when I pulled this guy

Not hardly, they're 80 bucks for a set! Like MasterWIII said, you just have to stuff them inside your stock coils.
