here's my everyday carry - I've gotten on a commercial flight already with this in my bag (forgot it was there/using it as a money clip - didn't make that mistake again)
http://www.halligankissenginered.com/images/tkiss1.jpg
Ed Halligan K.I.S.S. (keep it super simple)
Manufacturer: CRKT
Name: crkt k.i.s.s. tanto C series
Model: CR-5500C
Blade edge: plain edge
Blade Length: 2.25"
Closed Length: 3.5"
Overall Length: 5.75"
Steel: 420 J2 54-56 HRC
Finish: bead blast
Weight: 2.3 oz
Clip: stainless pocket

"Designed by Ed Halligan. The original single-side design has a tanto inspired blade and bead-blast finish and is precision fine blanked for superior fit and smooth operation.

This unique two-piece construction features an integral frame lock and a breakthrough design which seals the cutting edge against the handle.

A thumb stud is used to one-hand open the blade, and as the blade is fully rotated open, the frame lock snaps crisply in behind the blade to give a sound lockup. The blade can be closed with one hand, simply by releasing the frame lock.

Both blade and frame are 420 J2 stainless steel in a fine bead blast finish"

I plan to build a furnace to do some heat treating and was thinking about making knives again. My favorite knife of mine had a 1/4" thick blade with a moulded lead handle that I use to throw at a 3/4" plywood board. My feeling is if it didn't stick, impact would surely hurt....hehe

I'm thinking about making some new throwing knives with tungstein handles this time. It's fun throwing a knife and seeing the blade sticking out the back side of a 3/4" plywood board.

My edc is a gerber but I don't remember what model. I thought it was airborne something but I can't find it online. Edit: it's a Gerber: Harsey Air Ranger.I've had it for ~7 years now (one of those years it was lost under my seat but tucked up in the seat cover, found it almost one year to the day from when I lost it). I use it at work all the time to open boxes, pry stuff, cut paper, etc... it's been a great edc.

my EDC is on the left, its a Kershaw Vapor, nice small and light weight knife. The dark area at the tip was from a bonfire where we had nothing to roast marshmallows with... :hillbill:

The Gerber on the right is my beater. It's for anything that is too messy or just in general i dont want to do with a good knife...

and my newest knife is the S&W H.R.T. in the middle. It's a really nice knife, and usually is kept in my truck.

Took a couple of pics. The wife and baby went to sleep early so I've been messing around all night. These live in the little coin basket by the bed. It makes it easy to grab one on my way out the door. I've got one of these (not the SRK) with me every single day (except airport days > checked luggage).

From left to right:
Spyderco Military, Spyderco Para Military (black), Spyderco Endura, Spyderco Delica, Spyderco Rescue, CRKT K.I.S.S., Cold Steel SRK.

Better for when I need a nice EDC.
http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e13/mezamichael82/MISC/DSC07766.jpg

I've had this Endura for 11 years. It's an oldy and a goodie. I'm not sure the blades are made in Japan any more.
http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e13/mezamichael82/MISC/DSC07764.jpg

Delica is when I want something there and small. Makes for a good toothpick.
http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e13/mezamichael82/MISC/DSC07763.jpg

This thing will cut you if you pick it up. It's for when you really need a knife in a hurry. I used to have a green handle one (longer blade) that was attached to my PFD. It was used once and only once. This knife isn't for carving on wood or cutting cheese this had a purpose and I wanted it there and sharp when need be. Now I can't find that PFD or green handled knife. This one has only cut paper. It used to live in my crash bag but now it's got bedside duty.
http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e13/mezamichael82/MISC/DSC07762.jpg

Dumb little knife I haven't opened in 3-4 years.
http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e13/mezamichael82/MISC/DSC07761.jpg

Thick and ready for work. Made in the USA too (new ones aren't).

I've got a hand full of swiss army knives here and there as well as 4 leathermans. I've always got one in my bag, vehicle and the others are with camping and fishing stuff.

**What the reviewer doesn't mention is he has the right handed version, even with the clip switched the sawtooth cut ids right handed.
The true left handed version has the proper tooth cut in them so you can slice/peel and get the proper roll-off instead of curling in.

I can't hold out on this thread any longer! My favorite knives (Top to bottom obviously):

BK&T Combat Utility - Huge survival knife, 7" blade, full tang with hammer flat on handle. I always have this thing on me when camping/hiking. I'm a wilderness survival enthusiast and this is the one knife I would want with me in a survival situation, hands down. Make it a spear, hatchet, hammer, it does a lot and is a very tough blade that holds a good edge.

Carson Design CRKT M16-14 - Large folding knife, 4" blade, heavy duty feel. Double lock on the blade to prevent accidental folding. I'm a fan of the tanto blade as well.

Carson Design CRKT M16-02Z - Good little pocket knife, 3" blade, thick tough blade, double locking blade like its bigger brother.

Kershaw 1570 S60V - Very nice knife, although the grip is a little strange in tactile feel but good for slippery hands. Spring loaded blade allows it to open in an instant with a flick of your thumb. Amazingly sharp blade, nearly razor sharp.

H&K Snody Auto Axis to Assist Mod if you're in one of "Those 45 States or Non-Military/Non-Public Safety"..

*What a waste of a good functioning knife, but I can't legaly sell it, let alone ship it, and it would have to sit there as I can legally possess it but not use it.

Had some time today to finally figure out what was stuck in my mechanism on the H&K Knife, so at the same time I went ahead and converted it over to non-auto, rendering it fully legal in California as a EDC w/o CCW. *Pretty much can forget my warranty, but in all the Benchmade's I have owned I had yet to need it before losing or giving the knife away anyhow.

You remove the 4 t-6 torx and the t(20?) main screws, remove the trim plate, open the knife, and on the blade armature (bolt assembly) remove the shim holding one of the assist springs. Remove the spring then just put the shim back in, close the knife, and reassemble. Before you put the last screw in the blade bolt assembly, add some blue loctite.

Tighten the t(20?) until the point when you open the release, it no longer lets the knife fully deploy. Simply do as you do with the finger assist, flicking your thumb along the blade and it's opened.

Not as fast, but according to Cali law, it has a lock, a release, and is no longer biased when released towards full open. Next mod might be just figuring out how stupid it would be to tap the blade for a thumb bolt install and no springs at all.

Happy cutting boys!

*Proposed Senate bill differentiating Switchblades from a "Spring Assist Knife".

CALIFORNIA is the basis of all law due to it being typically the hardest and most progressive
California State Senator Betty Karnette of the 27th District is the author and who is responsible for Bill SB 274 and the legalization of Spring Assist Knives.

Senator Karnette realized that Spring Assist Knives are extremely functional tools by law-abiding citizens and that these knives serve an important utility to many knife users, as well as firefighters, EMT personnel, hunters, fishermen, and others who utilize one-handed opening knives, then the prohibition of such items is obstruction to justice & complete disregard to US law.

Spring Assist Knives are intended to save lives while an EMT, Firefighter, or Law Enforcement Officer is trying to get you out of an automobile accident or any other viable problem. They have saved skydivers lives that had to cut parachute lines. They have saved countless fishing poles when a line is needed to be cut. They are also essential to handicap individuals whom happen to have one arm. Special Thanks to Senator Betty Karnette is in order because if it were not for her we would loose more of our rights in this country and also not have tools that are lifesaving instruments.

LEGAL LAWS & STATE STATUTES OF CALIFORNIA

The rules on "what is a legal pocketknife versus a switchblade" are contained in Penal Code 653k. In it's entirety (current effective 1/1/2002):

653k: Every person who possesses in the passenger's or driver's area of any motor vehicle in any public place or place open to the public, carries upon his or her person, and every person who sells, offers for sale, exposes for sale, loans, transfers, or gives to any other person a switchblade knife having a blade two or more inches in length is guilty of a misdemeanor.

For the purposes of this section, "switchblade knife" means a knife having the appearance of a pocketknife and includes a spring-blade knife, snap-blade knife, gravity knife or any other similar type knife, the blade or blades of which are two or more inches in length and which can be released automatically by a flick of a button, pressure on the handle, flip of the wrist or other mechanical device, or is released by the weight of the blade or by any type of mechanism whatsoever. "Switchblade knife" does not include a knife that opens with one hand utilizing thumb pressure applied solely to the blade of the knife or a thumb stud attached to the blade, provided that the knife has a detent or other mechanism that provides resistance that must be overcome in opening the blade, or that biases the blade back toward its closed position.
------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bill SB 274, clarifies the definition of a one-hand opening knife so they are not wrongly classified as switchblades. Bill SB 274 clearly states: For the purposes of this section, switchblade knife means a knife having the appearance of a pocketknife and includes a spring-blade knife, snap-blade knife, gravity knife or any other similar type knife, which can be released automatically by a flick of a button, pressure on the handle, flip of the wrist or other mechanical device, or is released by the weight of the blade or by any type of mechanism whatsoever. Definition of Switchblade knife does not include a knife that is designed to open with one hand utilizing thumb pressure applied solely to the blade of the knife or a thumb stud attached to the blade, provided that the knife utilizes a detent or other mechanism that (a) provides resistance that must be overcome in opening the blade, or (b) biases the blade back toward its closed position. In order to ensure that only legitimate one-handed opening knives are covered, SB 274 narrows the language to only allow knives to fall under the exemption from the switchblade law if that one-handed opening knife contains a detent or similar mechanism. Such mechanisms ensure there is a measure of resistance that prevents the knife from being easily opened with a flick of the wrist. Moreover, a detent or other mechanism is prudent and a matter of public safety as it will ensure that a blade will not inadvertently come open.

Really? What an incredible waste of time it was to draft that bill. Is it even legal to restrict what kind of knife a person can carry? Making it illegal to carry a 'switchblade' will I'm sure make criminals less likely to use them or at least substitute a legal knife to be used when knifing someone. It just wouldn't be right to kill someone with an illegal weapon.

Obi..
06-17-2010, 08:40 AM
^True. W/E though, considering it's perfectly legal in all 50 states to buy everything you need to build and operate an AR15 or higher (57) and until such a time as my employer or this state supply me with a readily available and servicable, left handed, single handed operable knife I'll use what I have to. I find it all semantics since the main reason I need an assist is b/c of an injury I sustained to my middle two fingers tendons in a rescue situation, that as a certified citizen I had full right to not assist in, and later received a Citizenship Award for. In other words, if I was to be cited for the current configuration I have it in, I've likely been in a situation that I should not be in, or was forced into defending myself in.

That said, check this out, it falls within the 2" law and is fully legal..you can even download and store the S/B and Local Law Web Pages and Information in it for easy reference! :D

I've been daily carying this case knife I found in my truck for the last couple weeks. I found it in my truck soon after I got it last march. I just disregarded it cause I never needed a pocket knife to carry. But recently I wonder how I got by without one on me all the time. I use this thing for everything.

Here is is:

I picked this Gerber (http://www.gerbergear.com/index.php/product/id/46) up a few months ago (on clearance at Target for $7) thinking I wouldn't really use it. I've had it on my belt ever since and changed the blade twice already - I like that I don't have to sharpen it and can flip the blade to a fresh edge with a flat blade screwdriver.

Can't go wrong with CRKT (Columbia River Knife & Tool), they make some awesome knives at very reasonable prices.

For pocket knives, their M16 EDC (every day carry) series is top-notch. They come in a couple of different sizes, tanto or spearpoint, serrated or smoothblade. I have an M16-02Z and really like it, and it's only $45 from Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/CRKT-Carson-M16-02Z-Razor-Edge-Tanto/dp/B000W5LAWA/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=industrial&qid=1289630489&sr=8-1)!

I've been daily carying this case knife I found in my truck for the last couple weeks. I found it in my truck soon after I got it last march. I just disregarded it cause I never needed a pocket knife to carry. But recently I wonder how I got by without one on me all the time. I use this thing for everything.

Here is is:
http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a168/Sycosurfer150/DSCN0488.jpg
From the research I've done its an 08 production model. Didn't know Case knives were collectible either?
It's almost exactly like this one:
http://www.wrcase.com/knives/pocket_knives/browsefolding2.php?Family=%27Dark%20Red%20Bone%20C V%27&Folding=%271%27&Item=%276994%27

Nice knife, sharp as hell too :)

Bent this freaking this getting a rack and pinion boot off of an inner tie rod :(
Don't know what I want to replace it with as far as a daily carry knife..
Any suggestions?
I need something relatively the same size to keep it legal for carry here in CA, I guess.

Hammer it out? lol of course it would be weakened and if it bent that easily it wasn't very strong in the first place... bummer. Good luck finding a new one, I'm really no help there though :P

Corax,

I considered getting that blade/knife thing a few months back. One thing that concerns me is how short the handle is. can you grip the whole handle without having any digits in danger?

It's not an uncomfortable grip. I hold it with my first 3 fingers on the handle and my thumb on the back of the blade. There's a semi-circle recess that my pointer finger rests in to keep it from sliding forward, you can kinda see it just before the hinge.

As awesome as that would be, it's just 1.4116 Stainless Steel with a bead blasted finish ;) Ceramic blades are too brittle to be used for prying and stuff...

The weight difference is because the BK7 is 3/16" thick, and about a half inch "taller" than the Ultima.

Add to that all the one's I liked to love (like some of the 500 and 700 series) are being discontinued. [Cartman Voice]LAME.

I swear by the Spyderco Military and Para Military. My pics are in earlier posts. Google CA knife laws. There is a lot of gray area and there is no limit on blade length, I've had this confirmed by LE friends as I carry the Military now and again. The Para is better for EDC as it's a little smaller. Mine is razor sharp out of the box and still that way after years of use. IMO this knife is well worth the money hands down and I would buy another tomorrow if I had to.

I had a Benchmade Styker that I liked a lot but it was a tanto blade which I didn't like as much as I thought. Smooth knife and high quality.

Honestly, with my damaged middle finger and hand I should conceivably be able to argue it, but ultimately I might as well just file and request a CCW even though the litany of loop holes is amazing. It isn't like I'm paranoid. I use it daily, for basic stuff as well as part of my rescue, traveling and recovery gear. It helped w/ a bike accident in Downieville just 2 months ago, quickly cutting and securing a line was a necessity before someone fell down a spot further.

http://www.ccwusa.com/id6.html

Besides, IMHO it is a knife, not a firearm. With all the other stuff in my background as far as weapons, etc I prefer to just be straightforward about it and not give any excuses to anyone. I had to wait a bit to just get the knife back after the car wreck last month.
*That in itself shows loopholes..but I have a great background that helps.

I bought my dad and granddad a Spyderco Native for Father's Day one year. The blades were S30V steel, and came razor sharp out of the box. I think I only paid $40 each for 'em at Wal-Mart. I was a bit thrown off by how light weight they were, because I was used to my old school Boker. I think that made them feel a bit 'cheap' to me at the time. That was a really nice knife for the price though... I'd probably buy one for myself if I had extra cash.

I was looking at the Spyderco site and seen this (http://spyderco.com/catalog/details.php?product=388) guy.. and if I had the $$ to throw on something like that I definitely wouldn't mind buying it!

I've got this one as well. It's the smallest of my knives therefore a little harder to grab and open. I have a bunch of skateboard deck grip tape left over from several different projects. I cut a little circle out and put it on the blade holder. This makes it easier to open one handed while maintaining a grip. I think mine was $12 shipped.

I don't understand why they are doing this. I saw somewhere that it's to help prevent spillover, but I really don't see how removing the latches will help. Also, I just saw a page preaching the evils of gas fumes and to never 'top off' and always use the latch and stand up wind so you don't breathe the vapors :P

yeah, I didn't see that when I filled up at this station near Paso Robles. When I was in San Bernardino, there was a sticker on the gas pumps saying that the "hold open" latch was removed by order of the fire marshal. I assume to prevent spillage if the pump handle came out of the vehicle (though that wouldn't make sense since you have to have the nozzle in all the way for it to pump anyway :headscratch:)

might just be a specific manufacturer's nozzle:
http://www.fire.ca.gov/communications/communications_firesafety_redflagwarning.php

Today the California Office of the State Fire Marshal (OSFM) announced that it was mandating
the removal of hold open latches on all Vapor System Technologies (VST) nozzles in
approximately 3,000 gas stations statewide. The action taken today will ensure public safety and
allow the gasoline stations equipped with VST nozzles to continue operating.

Nice knife Steve!

I found my fixed blade that I might try to wear more as a weekend EDC. Oddly enough I found it in a box of stuff from when I was a kid. I remembered that I had found a ka-bar type knife and sheath when I was a kid, but I knew it wasn't a ka-bar because the handle wasn't correct. Anyways, I never used it and just held onto it all these years. I went searching for it and found it yesterday.

Turns out it's a WWII era PAL RH-36 (possibly used in the war). It's in okay shape but needs some work (mainly on the handle). The sheath is in good shape but it's just missing the little strap with the snap for holding it in the sheath.

My new project....WWII era PAL RH-36 I need to clean and sharpen the blade, add the leather piece/snap on the sheath, and fix the loose pommel and handguard. Some of the leather discs are damaged, but I plan on leaving them as is. The pommel and handguard I plan on just wrapping monofilament there to tighten them up. The blade, I'm not sure how to clean. The blade is parkerized, not polished, so I'm not sure what to use to get the blade clean.

Damn dude, I wouldn't want to be cut by that Eastwing. The LMF on the other hand. I've wanted one since they've come out but haven't bought one because the one fixed blade I use doesn't even get much use.
I'd try some navel jelly or rust converter for your RH-36. Chances are the surface is slightly pitted so it'll only get "kind of good." Or just use the heck out of it and let it age and fix itself. I've seen restorations of KA-Bars on spyderco forums but they are mostly safe queens.

Nice find on your old gear. I too had a hatchet and I loved that thing. To this day I'm not sure why my parents thought it was a good thing for me to have but as a good child I never doubted their decision. The trees in their backyard might of thought differently. I'll never get my hatchet back though. It's at the bottom of lake near South Lake Tahoe. When I was 10 or 11 my buddys and I were allowed to go on a hike alone and of course we took the hatchets. Two of us lost our hatchets that day "duck hunting."

Got a couple "bottle openers" today. Presents from April, that I ordered. :) Actually just the CRKT Eat'N Tool was what I was supposed to order for my stocking, but I "accidentally" ordered the Gerber Epic too. :) Then again, I "accidentally" bought her a Nintendo 3DS, so it's fine. :)

The Gerber Epic has mixed reviews, but I had to get it. If anything, I was going to slap a magnet on it and just have a kick ass bottle opener on my fridge. So far looks like it's going to be great. I wanted a smaller fixed blade that I can put on my pack on the shoulder strap, since the LMF II is a little too massive right there all the time. The clip on the Epic can be switched side to side (LH or RH), and it can also be swapped so it can be handle up, handle down.

Chris - how is the epic about staying in the sheath? I want something for the shoulder strap of my GH bag that i keep in the truck (and the wife's too). been eyeballing the Gerber/Bear Grylls survival knife, but I am unsure, and some reviews says it stays in sheath great handle down, and others say not so much...

Chris- there shouldn't be any problem with the knife coming loose from the sheath, it clicks in and you have to push up on the locking piece of plastic to remove the knife. Only thing to think about is the fact that it only has a clip and not a full loop, so there will always be the possibility of it being knocked off. Everyone gives Gerber crap for this, but it makes sense, you can't really use the bottle opener unless you hold onto the blade, hence the fact that the whole combo only has a clip so that the sheath acts as a handle for the bottle opener. I can see how Gerber probably would have been sued by someone who cut themselves because they held the blade wrong when opening a bottle, so they made it safer by making sure that the sheath can stay on.

The clip could definitely be made of stiffer metal, but it should be just fine on a shoulder strap as long as you have the clip in the right position and it doesn't constantly rub against something that could work the clip up and off the webbing. I'll take more pics tonight, so you can see what I'm talking about.

The last hour or so of work, I wore it in my boot like this. Stayed in place just fine, and forgot it was there after 5mins.
http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e113/slosurfer27/Knives/2011-12-30_15-54-31_640.jpg

Crappy pic, but here it is on my belt. I don't really like it there as it puts the handle up pretty high. Makes me feel like I'm reaching for a pistol or something. I did wear it like that last night at a bonfire because everyone was using it to open their beers, so it was convenient to just clip it to my belt everytime I got it back. Also, puts your shirt up really high in order to keep it legal and not conceiled, so it's annoying to wear it like that around town.

SOG Flash 1 will arrive on Tuesday. I couldn't argue with the $32 price tag to my door. The Benchmade was a little more costly. ;)

Kyocera 3" ceramic pairing knife. For the kitchen. :) Still nice and sharp after having it over a year and using it on a pretty regular basis for peeling apples, slicing fruits and vegetables, slicing chicken/steak/pork..

Also comes in all black if you're wanting tacticool in the kitchen.

The SOG Flash 1 arrived today. Looks like it's going to be the perfect EDC knife.. small, light, decent blade steel, and the only time I notice it in the pocket is when I dig my keys out.. my hand just barely grazes it. It's also assisted opening. Can't complain for the money.

Fiskars axe-

I bought a 14" hatchet from them since I needed one and wanted to see what the fuss was about. The dang thing is nice! light and sharp out of the box. I havnt swung it more then 10 minutes making kindling but if it holds up like the reviews say then it will be a great value.

I think I might sneak into my tax return and get a Spyderco Paramilitary 1 or 2. Blacked out.. or would like the one with digi cam handles and black blade.. Might have to hold out on that for a while because I also plan on getting a gun with my tax return.

are you sure you are talking about fiskars? the head cant come off unless you break the handle apart. its not a typical hammer a wedge into a wood handle setup. The handle wraps around the steel. its a little concerning when spiting with a chop style axe that the plastic on the head scrapes the wood, but I dont think i'll wear it out.

I love my blacked out Paramilitary. If you get a paramilitary you're gonna want a Military also. If so, get one. Those two are my favorite.

Doubly sure i saw a few threads about it elsewhere. Something about the plastic not holding up overtime. But they might have fixed it by now.

Oh! You had me wondering if there was a real problem. I can see they would be suseptable to misuse damage by design. The blade profile I have for instance wont live forever spliting wood, but would be fine in hatchet tasks.

I'm having a hard time not pulling the trigger on a blacked out, or digi cam/black, paramilitary 2. Very difficult to do!

Still loving the Flash 1. Best $30 I've spent on a knife.

Took my WW2 era knife to the mobile sharpener guy. He was stoked to work on it and begged me to let him shine the blade up. I was just going to leave the patina. Now it's razor sharp and I can keep it sharp easily now.

Today I thought I lost my Gerber EDC (I've been calling it the b!tch knife, since it does whatever I tell it to do). Got me thinking about moving up to something a little better. Also, my EDC refuses to hold an edge anymore, seems like every week it needs sharpening.

I found this: http://www.amazon.com/Kershaw-1985ST-Serrated-Folding-SpeedSafe/dp/B0064SR6SG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1377309297&sr=8-1&keywords=1985ST

That's in my price range, has the fancy assisted open that appears to be California friendly, and a serrated blade (a must for me). Thoughts or other suggestions?

Not the usual knife for this thread, but unique none the less. The top knife is a general purpose knife that I bought at a little shop we found in downtown Kyoto, Japan, a few months ago. It's all hand made by the knife makers in the back of the shop as can be seen by the lack of perfect lines. They even stamped my name into the handle in kanji. The only downfall is that it's high carbon steel and not stainless steel so it will develop a "patina" very quickly.

The big one is a special sushi knife that my wife picked up in Japan while she was there a few years ago. I call it my sushi sword. Her uncle owns a butcher shop and does a lot of business with a knife company so they sent a salesman to her house to show her various knives. When the wife described it on the phone I didn't realize the measurement was for the blade only and not the overall length, so when she came back with it, it was a bit of a surprise.

I've been carrying the same $25 Gerber AR 2.0 for around .... 12 - 13 years or so? I bought this knife when I was 18, and have carried it virtually everyday since.

Got a couple blades for Christmas and then realized that I had a couple more blades that I have added since my last post.

The CRKT M16-01KZ I bought because I wanted a thin straight. (easy to sharpen) and it was cheap. Figured it would work better for skinning a pig than any of my serrated knives. Haven't really used it at all and now it sits in my range bag and is a back up EDC.

The SOG Twitch II, a friend gave me for helping him with a gun project. Other than it being small, this thing is super awesome! Very sharp and the assisted action is super fast and solid. This has become my "gentleman's" knife, basically my EDC when I am dressed nice. The action on it really makes me want to get a larger SOG with the same action.

The Ka-Bar has been on my want list for a long time (even before I joined the Marines). Bought it for myself for Christmas. :)

My parents got me the Cabelas Alaskan Guide Buck Skinner for Christmas. Can't wait to make use of this one. I need to make a nice lanyard for this one.

Actually, two of them. http://www.knife-depot.com/knife-344791.html

For the price, it is a great knife. Blade is very sharp, and the assisted open is good. It is now my EDC.

I am not crazy about the camo, but I can live with it.

I also took off the window break point, all it did was stab me in the leg.
