We're far from convinced that the image above is the 2010 Toyota Prius, but judging by the front detail pic and the interior shot, it could be the most accurate portrayal we'll see before it's unveiling in Detroit this January.

The pic, published over at PriusChat by bossdowner, shows a restyled front end that takes a few cues from recent ToMoCo offerings, including the bulbous badge housing, deeper air dam and recessed fog lamps. The headlights are a nice touch, but we still haven't warmed up to the L-shaped design originally shown on the new Maxima and forthcoming 370Z.

As for the interior, it's a sea of bland in a dark gray plastic that would make the Germans proud. However, we dig the raised center console with an integrated pass-through to access the 12-volt outlet.

Check the gallery for more and let us know your thoughts in the comments. Thanks for the tip Rafih.

Without a SAS that thing would not be able to follow us out at pismo.. :hillbill:

Looks a bit more refined then the old version though

^^ You could drag it through pismo. I'm sure the lid would slid nice on the sand.

It appears that this is indeed the 3rd gen Prius.

Toyota launched a webpage for a new Prius a couple days ago:

The LED headlights and solar powered AC sounds pretty neat, but if all it gets is 50mpg, I think I'd rather just have an older Carolla.

i was excited to see solar panels in the roof but disappointed to see it used for what it's used for. theres no doubt that the inside of vehicles gets hot, especially here in the south, and that could be nice, but i feel like it would go much more with the "environmental friendly" model of the Prius if that solar power was used to charge a battery or maintain tire pressure or something that would help the vehicle run longer on it's electric motor, using less gas. though i do know that the a/c on uses slightly more gas. i just feel like having it simply run a fan is pretty weak

It still looks like an old honda crx in a way and I dislike that. Why cant it be a sedan or at least pull off the wagon look with less bulging metal?
