The wife comes in and yells, THERE'S A GIANT SPIDER RIGHT THERE!" So I look over and there's a spider that's about 1" in diameter standing by the door. I grab a newspaper and crouch down and give it a smack.

In the blink of an eye it EXPLODES into about 20 baby spiders all trying to scatter! I almost fall over backwards but I keep smacking and the wife comes in carpet bombing with 409 cleaner.

One tricky spider tried to make an escape toward the bathroom and almost made it, but my ninja like reflexes got him before he made it to the crack. I'm sure he was going to go into hiding and then at some later date, launch a sneak attack while I'm sitting on the toilet, surfing the web with my ipod touch. :gunner:

Nope, no pics. I'm still coming down from post traumatic stress disorder and didn't have the presence of mind to grab the camera.

I hate spiders.

If that happened to me, I would have pulled out my gun and gone to town.

I had the same thing happen to me in my garage. It was the first time ever I went in there bare foot, I usually don't do this because I leave a lot of metal shavings and sharp stuff laying around. Anyways I was moving my bar stool to the work bench and out of the corner of my eye spied a big'ol nasty spider, and there I was bare foot :screwy:. I used one of the legs of the bar stool ot smash it and sure enough a bunch of little spiders came shooting out. I freaked out as they go running everywhere. I reach over to the tool box and pulled out the Mapp torch and made short work of them, it was actually kind of cool as each spider made a little orange flash. I'd say there were at least 50 little spiders and I made sure none got away :pirate:.
I haven't seen any more of those spiders but I kill pretty much everyone I see at the house. There seem to be a lot so I know there are enough around to get the other bugs I don't want around. It's the black widows in the eves that creep me out.

Brake cleaner works wonders on spiders and just about every other little creepy thing.

I thought the only reason to spray them with brake cleaner IS to light them on fire.

 I guess we all knew that you're supposed to light it.

If you're ever in the bathroom and have this problem, the aerosal smell good spray cans also work as flame throwers. :gunner: (We need a flame thrower smiley)

if you dont want to risk burning down your house, super strong hair spray works also, just glues em to the floor/wall
