Hey hallihoopas , my name is jason I picked up a 97 3.4L auto trans 4x4 SR5 4runner with 155K engine runs strong. This truck is the cleanest 97 I've seen heck even 98,99,00 were in worse off condition then the one I picked up. I am at work right now so I'll have to post pics up later.

so far from what I gathered on here I will be doing the 90 bend removal to let it breather better and will be buying a AMSOIL filter TS-115 if I recall. good thing I found out about this forum or else I would have dropped nearly $300 on a cold air intake system.

would a 99-02 air box system really be that much better than then 97? I guess if I can pick one up at a Junkyard for cheap I might consider that swap, but for now I will stick with my 97 set up.

what exhaust option are there, cat back systems or just buy a new muffler and call it good.

thanks -=Jason=-

Good times I think I'll stick to the cheapest route for right now spending $200 plus is not in my budget. I still need to have the Trans fluid and filter changed I am going to have the pan dropped as I do not want to get it flushed and create problems there are not there right now.
I removed the Stock Elbow and I noticed a wee bit more pick up when I step on the gas.It is not so much any louder then it was before or at least my ears can't tell the difference.
and today is a full day of Clay Baring, Cleaner wax, then #26 yellow carnuba Wax. This truck is a LOT bigger than my Honda civic that's for sure.
well on to the pictures

Yeah don't bother with any other air filter but True Flow. Even just picking up their drop in replacement filter is far better than any other air filter on the market. If you can't afford the drop in filter, I'd just stick w/ the factory paper filter then.

Also I'd also recommend that you flush all fluids just to be safe. Never hurts to do it though it won't be cheap. Call it cheap insurance so u know the health level of each moving part by just simply inspecting the oil.

Lookin good man!
