Things to do in Portland....

Next month I am visiting my mom in Vancouver. What is there to do in Portland / Vancouver area? Natives of the area please chime in....

i have a ton of family up in teh 'couve, so ive spent alot of time up there.

honestly, portland is a BEAUTIFUL city! take a day and a backpack, and walk the entire downtown. im really interested in architecture and there are some amazing buildings there. northeast portland is very beautiful too, just tons of old homes.

the columbia river gorge is AWESOME, and seek out the many waterfalls that are around. http://www.crgva.org/

mt. st. hellens is not too far of a drive up I-5, and is definately worth a visit. there are the Ape Caves, on the opposite side of the visitors center, those are amazing and by far my favorite thing to do up there. both easy and hard choices (i have not done the hard section yet, was getting too late in the day and no one wanted to go with me) http://www.fs.fed.us/gpnf/recreation/ape-cave/index.shtml
