Info is spotty but it supposedly somewhere on Kodiak Island and the unnamed pilot said there were just as many bears on the hill above as there were on the beach :D

Pretty cool!

Cool. Kind of like when a roach coach shows up at a construction site.

It's hard to see, but it's right in the middle of the picture. It looks almost white. Pay attention to the waves and you'll notice they stop in the middle of 4 bears.

If you look really closely, you can see the whale.

Erich, whats the difference in brown bears and kodiak bears?

I know that brown bears and grizzly bears are genetically the same species, just the seperate regions, and thier dietary differences seperate them and have spawned the two nomenclatures.

I'm no expert, but they are supposed to be the same species. The huge salmon runs on Kodiak and Admiralty Island allow for huge populations of HUGE bears.

That's why the coastal brownies get so much bigger than thier inland grizzly brothers.
