I am posting pics of the build from day one to present day, they should speak for themselves but feel free to ask any questions

X2

I've always liked that body. I came pretty close to making my first car an FJ40. I kind of glad I didn't because I didn't have the money to build it up right.

i was real close to buying a 78 FJ40 about a year ago but was talked out of it by my parents and girlfriend (the sane ones)...as much as i wanted it, im glad i don't have it now...i can't imagine the money it would take to build it up and then having to haul it around as I move locations for work every few months

thanks for the complements guys, as far as the money goes it really didnt take that much compared to what they are worth and what I paid for it,I did all of the work myself but still...all in all I probably have about 5k in it and thats including the cruiser itself, and the other night at Pizzahut a guy offered me 12k for it im not possitive if he was serious, however if it was your daily driver I would say no for sure, I mean I love driving it, and it turns heads everywhere it goes but its slow and loud and slow and not very "smooth" at all and some how I always smell of exhaust
so I would never buy one and it be my only rig, I would have to have a daily driver as well

LC,

Nice progress, I have a rust bucket myself (not an LC) that I repaired just a few months ago, so I know its not easy and a labor of love. Rust sucks!

How to cheat/defeat Photobucket Security Coding and make your pics work within a forum. :D

*Gott's to make [*img][*/img] your friend asap though...it get's a bit tiresome having to outlink to view pics.
**Click "fullsize" to open the full image, then right click to open the pic as text fullpage in another window, copy the text, minus the t=blahblahblah security coding, then Remove the "*" from the img text I provided above, and insert your htp......jpeg script in to embed the pics thusly..

Nice progress though :D not a lot of hardcore LC tech here yet, but there's always mud for that.
*share w/ us though, we need the tech here. ;)

I just loaded a bunch of pics on my tire thread from Photobucket :headscratch: Didn't have to do anything but copy the IMG pathway and paste it.

Nice FJ40!

Dunno, but was politely suggesting the procedure, as apparently either the code's failed or the person didn't bother to embed them.

I could just have flamed the newb instead. :D

OK, no more O/T from me. ;)

its all good man, I suck at using computers, so if you didnt mind could you say what you said in "commputer illiterate" terms, I would love to know how to do it. i know I hate haveing to click on stuff to see pictures but thats the only way I know how to do it, thanks a ton

Beautiful LC! I have a 70 fj40 that I just got a few months ago. It's built up as a rock crawler, but I would like to do a little restoration on it, too.

Thanks for sharing the pics!

when you're either looking at the individual pic or your whole album you'll see 3 or 4 text fields, one of which is labeled "IMG code". just copy everything in that field and paste it into your reply. it should look something like

[IMG.]http://path.to/image.jpg[/.IMG] without the periods. thatll embed it automatically in your post

You need a [ in the front of the first IMG

And don't worry about asking questions, we'll get you all straightened out  "Give a man a fish, he'll eat for a day, teach a man to post pics and we'll have killer threads from that day on" :hillbill:

Sounds just like my 80 :D.

Very good job on the build. If I had the space for it, I would totally get one.

if i had to get rid of my truck to get an SUV i think it'd be an 80 series. if i had the option to get a dedicated trail rig it'd be a 40 series for sure!
