I just have the factory wheels on my 2001 4Runner and I'm looking to paint them. I'm going to sand them down and prep them before priming and painting and I have some military grade epoxy that should do the trick. Just wondering if anyone has tackled this before and if they ran into any problems that I should look out for. Additionally, does anyone have any pictures of factory painted wheels, did they turn out looking good? Planning on painting the wheels black and my 4Runner is black as well.

It's all in the prep work. Make sure you get them clean and scuffed at the very least, but the more, and better, prep you do the better your finished product will turn out. Also remember when painting... several light coats (while more time consuming) will look FAR better than one or two heavy coats in the end. :) Good luck and keep us updated!
