One of the knobs for the roof rack is missing, and the Toyota place doesn't know the part number for it. Does anyone on here know the part number? Or a better place to get it from than the stealership.

run your vin on this site: http://www.toyodiy.com/parts/

from there you can find virtually any part visually! should be able to find that part number this way.

Thanks for the site.. That should come in handy. I didn't see the part on there though.. I just called the dealer back though and they found it. It's 12.50$ which is cheaper than I expected lol.. even though it's just a knob. According to that site my 2000 4Runner was actually manufactured in 10/1999.. so I wonder if that means I have the '99' suspension..

Yep still alive and kickin! I started to text you Monday before I posted on here haha..

I thought I just ordered the knob.. but I guess you have to order all 4 knobs and the two pieces they screw into.

Has anyone installed those before? It's a black plastic pieces and a metal piece. From looking at the others it looks like you put the metal piece on top of the plastic piece and then slide it into the track.. but then I couldn't get it under the rack. So do I have to slide the bar off and slide it on at the same time? I was trying to do this on my dinner break at work.. in the dark with some slight rain. Maybe I should try again tomorrow when I can actually see!

to put those pieces in you will have to remove the end cap from the rails attached to the roof and slide it down the track. (at least im assuming thats what you mean)

Yeah.. I took the end cap off and slide it down the track, but it didn't seem to want to go underneath the crossbar. So I wasn't sure if I needed to slide the crossbar out, and put it all in at once.

Sad thing is.. I haven't messed with it since I made that last post! lol

Ok I took care of it today. First off, the part the knob screws into consists of two pieces; one plastic, and one metal. I had that wrong.. but once I slid the crossbar completely out I could look at the other side to see how it went exactly. It was gravy from then on. Got it taken care of... finally.
