You know it's winter when: Mice Attack!!

It's almost 6am here, been up for about 2 hours now, I went to bed at 2:30am, woken up by my alarm repeatedly going off over the course of the time between 2:30ish and whenever I finally got pissed off enough to go out front, NiteRider MiNewt X-2 in one hand, revolver in another...

Our "Oldest" (the cat) goes screaming out past me straight to the truck, I flash the light on quickly, to catch him with a squeaker in his mouth, while 3 others dart in all directions to freedom.

We had a pretty decent sized infestation at the start of winter at my Mom's place. (ended up dumping atleast 6 of the little guys into the trash)

After a weeks of setting traps, my grandmother picked up this blue plastic tube like thing. Electro-mouse/rat trap. Takes 4 AA batteries iirc. Honestly at first, i thought that was going to be the last thing to catch one of the b**tards. I was proved wrong. When placed in a high traffic area (right next to our dog's food) it ended up killing 4. We baited it with dog kibbles.

Grandma was right after all...

mice hate peppermint . . . get some peppermint oil and make a pretty "sachet" to hang on the firewall (or do the same with some mothballs) :D

I have an electric $20 mousetrap in my shop, runs on 4AA batteries...kills them deader than shit. One Saturday last year when it was cold I was there all day, zapped 5 in about 8 hours. No mess, just dump the bodies. :D
