i added some ome springs (881front 2.5"/890rear 3.0")to my truck this week and now i need new front shocks since the ones i have are damaged and probably some new rear shocks to help articulation. whats everyones opinion on this stuff?

ive read that the OME N91S front shocks are too long and cause excessive droop that will harm cv joints in off road situation. this seems to be relatively new information cause net posts from 2004-2007 are all two thumbs up for the complete OME package lift.

ive also read that the tokico GU3535 (stock replacement front shock) is not suggested for lifted applications and also toytec does not recommended it for use with the OME881 coils that i already have.

those two would be my main choices for front shocks but ive been finding info that makes the choice harder.

as for the rear i havnt done any homework into that so im interested to hear what people have to say

also keep in mind i dont care how the truck handles on the road or if its comfortable. this truck is all about weekend off road adventures. i was truely fine with my floaty 190k mile stock suspension, but i caught the lift bug :)

this page has a great listing of front shock specs including there overall length that seems to be so importand http://www.sonoransteel.com/rear_shocks.html

im almost zeroed in on what im getting

for the front:
-OME N91S with two 5mm trim packers per side
i decided after much internet research that the droop only becomes an issue when using a top out spacer or when using a locker on the front. the offroad performance of these shocks seems to be near perfect for low budget.

for the rear:
pro comp shocks also from toytec

i really dont know too much about them other then they are a name brand and the price is good.

overall ill say that my springs have settled to a nice lift, but think i can get away with (regarding cv angles) the trim packers in front now that things have dropped to where they should be. friggen truck is getting expensive! haha but it is a great toy

Sounds like it will be a very solid setup.

Scuba, would you rather talk about tow straps??????????????????

you seem to like those... HAHAHAHAHAHA

Troy I have run OME rear set up for a while now and that is just a super reliable rear lift. The shocks included from OME have held awesome IMO.

I have never run OME coils in the front but have talked to a few who were disapointed in them sagging over time.

If I were to do a lift without adj coilovers it would be Tundra springs in front and OME's out back.
