Longest time driving in a single shot would have been Jackson Hole, WY to Heart Butte, MT. It took the 9 of us 20 hours to do the trip. Not many miles covered, but with snow storms and plenty of bathroom and sightseeing stops along the way, it took a while. Plus we took a lot of pictures in the Grand Tetons and Yellowstone. Distance was only about 600 miles.

Other than that, I would say the most I've ever been in a car was probably the 4 years my family spent living out of our car and traveling the US.

Most fun drive I've ever had was driving an Expedition in Mexico City during rush hour. One of the most fun things I've ever done. :D

EDIT: Forgot one trip. I drove a 15 passenger van pulling a trailer from Charlotte, NC to the west side of New Orleans. Distance was about 750 miles and took us 13 hours.

A few years back my now ex and her 2 kids and I did a spring break trip to visit all the grandparents
tulsa to Charlottesville, Va to Southampton, NY to Ligonier, pa back to tulsa. Over 3k miles in a week. My old 97 was perfect for it. It turned out to be a really big deal as my ex's farther passed away a few months later. It was the last time the kids saw him and the last time my ex saw him alert and healthy.

Out of boredom, a few years ago a friend and I wanted to see if we could drive non-stop diagonally across the US. Yes, we were very bored...no we weren't stoned. We went from Irvine, CA (Southern CA) to Lake George New York (upstate NY). We picked this spot only because we heard that it was a lake not to be missed, and we wanted to go to Buffalo New York for, what was reported as, the original Buffalo wings tavern. We were craving Buffalo Wings.

2850 miles one way, gas stops only...food while driving...we spent a day and turned around and headed home. Again, don't ask why me why.

Farthest was to Moab, Utah from Sacramento, CA, via highway 50. We had to make a stop in Sparks, Nevada so we were on 80 for awhile. Google said around 16 hours and 900 miles, it took us 22.5 hours. It snowed for most of Nevada. The sun was going down crossing the border from CA to NV and the sun was coming up crossing the border from NV to UT. My wife was sound asleep an I was high on nodoze and Mt. Dew. We had a similar experience coming back even though we took hwy 80. With all the exhausting driving, finals the week before and a week of mountain biking in Moab I got shingles. My doctor said my body was totally drained and getting week. I guess it was a sign to slow down a bit.

LAX traffic sucks, I find the flyaway shuttle from Van Nuys convenient. $4 parking and $4 one-way.
