I was under the assumption that all LEO's were given unconditional ccw across all states?
I remember reading about some federal law that gave LEO's ability to ccw across any state. I'll see if I can find the info for ya.

In 2004, the United States Congress enacted the Law Enforcement Officers Safety Act, 18 U.S. Code 926B and 926C. This federal law allows two classes of persons — the "qualified law enforcement officer" and the "qualified retired law enforcement officer" — to carry a concealed firearm in any jurisdiction in the United States, regardless of any state or local law to the contrary, with certain exceptions.[13]

We have CCW permits for regular people, I just got educated that LEO's needed other clearance, which shocks me sort of.
Aspen at this time of year, I am going to go out on a limb and wish you safe skiing/riding.

Lance- That's what I have been reading, but many other people state that it's not okay in some states.
Cheese- Do you have any idea what other clearance I would need? I feel naked without carrying! Yea, I am going out to Aspen for some snow sporting!

I have no idea on specifics.
My handgun/CCW knowledge consists of the following:
1. We have CCW permits here
2. Several friends took the class, I just go to the range with them sometimes
3. I really want a Smith 460 to carry as backcountry problem solver since the new legislation has passed
Otherwise, I am just another pretty face.
