I figure by this point, why not open up the subject of press coverage that all of us get to experience?
I know I've seen Lance's (Light Advertisement) truck, as well as Jamie's (http://www.ultimateyota.com/index.php?option=com_smf&Itemid=26&topic=2662.0) get coverage in 4WDTO, or inherently another publication, but in keeping in tune with the topic and hopefully getting some feedback going between David, Ben, and the guys, lets focus on the 4WD Toyota Owner coverage. :D
I'll start the game off with the issue I just picked up (while waiting for my mia issue to arrive).
Jan-Feb 2009 Issue..page 27, R/H Middle.
What a beat up looking chopped and bobbed blueish 4Runner sporting beadlocks! :flipoff: Maybe he'll (http://www.ultimateyota.com/index.php?option=com_smf&Itemid=26&topic=566.0) chime in and admit it too. ;) Nice shot, get any time for an interview done or being considered for an article at all? Post up a newer shot in your garage so folks can follow the progress without back searching the "exo to ino" tech??
*Remember, keep things light spirited and fun, and well, as asked relating to 4WDTO' coverage, as they deserve the support for working on such a great magazine! :D *Dave, quit the lurking and post up too!!

that has got to be the ugliest thing I've never seen!!!
now hand the damn keys over to me so I have something fun to drive :)
Unfortunately I don't have a subscription to 4wdTO :( Just can't justify getting any subscription to any magazines so I'll have to lurk and read someone's leftovers. I'll see if I can swipe one from Demello ;)
My truck's been in there? Must have been a TC ad or something.

It's a magazine dedicated solely to Toyota off-road enthusiasts. Nothing but Toyotas in it! They've been in print for about 2 or 3 years. You can get a subscription here: http://www.4wdtoyotaowner.com/, and I think Barnes and Noble bookstores carry them as well (I know the one in Hampton, VA did).
It's a pretty good magazine, and it's fun to see how many people you know are in it. The current issue has some of my pics in it from SE4RJ, including the cover picture of Mark's 4Runner. :hillbill:
I've also seen some photos of Lance's 4Runner in them as well. IIRC, they were either LightForce or total chaos.

Brad, I bet if you send them a message with a pic of your 4Runner and a message saying you would like to do a spread, they may be willing to do it.

Does anyone have a page pic? I won't be able to go pick one up till tomorrow. :D
Yeah, I guess I do need to pick up a UY hoodie. It is a Landcruiser hoodie though. :hillbill:
Obi..
03-10-2009, 07:52 PM
;) I thought it was perhaps that type of hoodie or a Trail Teams one. I'll scan the page in for you now...
[Edit]Unrefined straight scan...Enjoy! (You might also consider asking Ben or Dave for a good quality copy of the pic, he's been really cool about that sort of thing before with someone else I know.

Don't thank me, I'm "..just an innocent cog in the wheel of life..." :D
Me, I just like seeing (IMHO some deserving) folk I know getting some good press, and this gives me all the more reason to "passively" remind Ben and Dave about Toy Connection, Infamous Metal Works, and the opportunities to do coverage on them, and now that your face is out there, the Jamboree also. *O/T but they'd already be in the area possibly with SEMA, Surf-N-Turf and you're also there doing the Jambo...
Again, IMHO, I'm a nobody, with what I view as little influence, but will always try to throw out support in any form I can without pissing off anybody anymore.

Ah, ok....so this was Surf and Turf and not the UY Jamboree. Cool pictures! Is the UY jambo going to make it in 4WDTO?
Obi..
03-11-2009, 03:55 PM
Sorry Daniel, you posted "Pismo Coverage" so I didn't realize you meant the Jamboree. Buy a 4WDToyotaOwner (http://4wdtoyotaowner.com/) subscription anyhow, it's a great magazine.
I also recommend the Toyota Trails (http://tlca.org/web/index.php?option=com_content&task=section&id=9&Itemid=138) magazine you get being a member of TLCA (http://www.tlca.org/web/)!! (That, and well, it's a great club and your money goes to a great cause.)
Now, back on topic, as for the Jamboree, shoot them an email and express an interest in their doing an article about this site, and it's people and events.
*Address the letter to Ben and Dave in the subject line..

For that matter, who's chamo black FJ-C is that in the spotlight article starting on page 8? :flipoff:
*O/T page 70 has info on the Warn Benchmade knife I mentioned in another thread.

It's cool to have a magazine where just about every issue has a picture of a rig i've seen on a forum or someone I've met. Bud even used to use one of my pictures for his Bud Built ad. :D
