Hello everyone...I have a couple other projects to do on my truck before I get to the interior but I am curious what ideas people have.
I have purchased all the dashboard pieces brand new at parts.com
The truck has the cieling liner still and it is in brand new perfect condition.
I was thinking bed lining the entire inside and just puting the new dashboard in and buy some stock doors. I want the truck to be drivable. I dont want the truck to be annoying and uncomfortable to drive around town.
Anyways i want to hear ideas....... even the crazy ones.
here are some pics on what the interior looks like at the moment and what i would be starting with...........

More pics....................
Get yourself some seats from a MR2, civic or integra, very comfy, they will slide and tilt (depending on model) and are cheap.
I would bedline the interior if you want no mess issues, but put say cookie sheets or sheetmetal over it so you dont ruin the electronics with the bed liner or leave them exposed.
As for the door panels, maybe hot as hell int he summer but diamond plate sounds cool.

Sheet metal over the floor and ceiling so i can bed line it? Is that what your saying?
I found some seats here is the link...
http://www.seats4cars.com/brackets.htm#toyota
http://www.seats4cars.com/products/a4.htm
they have T100 seat bracket, they should go in very easy.
Ill look at thos models and see what kind of seats they have at the pick in pull, makybe ill get lucky.
Diamond plate the interior of the doors and the extra cab side panals...........is that what your saying?
Also for the ceiling and floor you reccomd puting some sheet metal for a better surface to bedline and to protect the wires?
i wish i could see a pic of that....... That would be very basic and very clean looking inside once the new dashboard is put back in. It would be a lot of work making cardboard stencils, but i think it would work out very well and save a lot of money compared to buying the interior plastic pieces new.
Thanks for the reply man you got all kinds of things going thru my head now.
Do you by any chance what diamond plate goes for per foot, roughly? I would probably paint it black or silver to match the rest of the truck, but it would look sweet.
Oh and im going to bedline the exterior kick panals and overlap the bed just a bit. I am painting the truck silver as well. I have a OEM bumper and grill thats black and brand new, should look sweet when its all done.
I have so much work to do, can only do one at a time though !!! I hate waiting!
I was thinking just the floor, the sheetmetal would protect the floor as best as possible from mud/dirt and protect the wiring loom that runs along it. Once bedlined it should be pretty good. I would mostly just line the sheetmetal on the floorboards where the seats are, the trans tunnel has no wiring near it.
As for diamond plate, I bought a sheet about 3x3 for 30 bucks at home depot way back when. Its easier to shop at a metal supply warehouse as it will be cheaper.

I am thinking furry, pink fake fur, and fuzzy dice. Get a bench seat. Or wood paneling, the stuff from the 70's would look nice. :flipoff:
The cage isn't a bad idea, with all your plans, and lack of wheeling experience.

Not just any dice........Fatty Dice lmao!!
I want it to look nice and cean though in the inside so one passanger doesnt mind being in there.
I can do a interior cage anytime after i do the interior how i like. I am going to add it in ithink somehow. Ill try and get the best of both words.

One thing to watch for about sheeting the floor before lining it, is that water will collect between the floor and the sheet metal. It wont evaporate, and it will cause body cancer on your floor panels. Just like how dropin bedliners do to the bed.
I do like the idea of diamond plate for the interior though. Tough and easy to clean. Maybe even just sheetmalat for the door panels and bedline those too.
Second on the internal cage. I have one in my truck and feel alot safer on the road and wheeling. I know there is a company that makes weld in kits for the T100 somewhere. I cant remember the name now though.

You could make a stainless steel roll cage. :D Daughter of my friend had one made for her supercharged A4. Looked kinda neat, but was $$$$$.
Ah didnt think of the rust issue. Need some way to cover up the exposed wires a bit more than they are, perhaps run a regular old rubber (not the green type but the rubber) garden hose over it to protect it from damage and mud.

I bought a 4x8 piece of Diamond Plate. I cut off a piece and came to the conclusion that I like the way it looks when its bedlined. The other good thing is I can paint it very easily to match the seats or whatever if needed. I think if i use .5" or 1" piece of black rubber tubing should look clean and easily hidden and pined were i wanted.
I think I might just bedline the floor as thick as i can, (maybe doing 3 coats) then I will get a more sound proof floor and i dont have to worry about condisation between floor levels.
As far as the doors and siding I think i want to use diamond plate. Then I would bedline the ceiling of the viechles.
Welding Aluminum to Metal isnt going to work, so I think i will have to bolt the Diamond plate to the doors and interior siding.
As far as the cage goes, I think I can just cut thru the floor of the truck and attach the tubing in four corners of the cab. Then I can run them to each other any way i think looks good.
I dont know what I will do with the manual transmission boot and plastic frame around it. Im thinking I could make a custom diamond plate froam to replace the plastic OEM one.
Other Issue I am woried about is how im going to get the power window assymbly to go on the diamond plate door panals. I guess im going to have to just fab that as well. Sounds like fun to me .
Bolt the diamond plate to the doors.. Be warned, int he summer painted black linered it will get HOT AS HELL.
Thats kinda why I scrapped the idea originally for this pos 4runner I had. Imagine bumping into it after its all hot? like a diamond plate tattoo lol..

LMAO!! i was thinking a silver color, still will be hot as hell though. Im still trying to think of someone in my area that will cut a perfect piece that will wrap around the door. I am going to make a stencil out of plastic and bring it to someone. lol I want it to look like its supposed to be there thats all.

I would just cut a piece that covers the main area of the door and leave the rest carpet maybe or something. I know the old runners and trucks were easier, I didnt have power windows or locks so it was easier even so.

Ya Idk lol. I just dont know how to bed diamond pate at the corners to give it a bowl shape. I have no idea how to do it. I woud assume there are places that have machines that can bend and cut any shape, Right??
