I am in the process of building a front bumper. Its a tube project to match the exo. Have winches gone standard with thier dimensions or all companies different ? I want to leave enough room to add one later. I do not need a bolt pattern, just some examples.
The info I need is
- Actual Width, Height, and Depth of the popular winches ?
- The measurement from the drive end, to the center of drum ?
- I do not need info on winches, or opinions just measurements and possibly pics of thier mounting ?
Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks Kieth thats some of the info I am looking for. I am looking for a happy medium, so whatever winch gets chosen, its gonna fit the space. I'll make the plate later. I'll continue to search info too.

Most wenches I come across seem to be cut from the same mold. 5'10 broad shouldered, pillar shaped, chick mullet, bad attitude, and usually a little goat hair on her chin. I would say Men's size 10 bootprint. :flipoff:

Have you thought about going with a hydraulic winch? You already have the pump for it, it's just a trade off of line speed (slightly slower) vs. 100% duty cycle at full pull. I remember reading an article in some magazine where their power steering fluid temps actually dropped during heavy winch usage . . . .

I have thought of it, it would fit what I do, and an easy upgrade. I have a good spare pump, Just need to concentrate on making space for any winch right now. I so far have been able to muscle and hand winch myself out of anything, but it is on the list down the road.

** looks like 23" x 8" +/- an inch each way would get you in the ballpark

Do they work? Are you looking to sell either? I'll be out in Butler (north of Pitt) on Tuesday . . . .
