calico Sunday Feb 8th(change #2 due to superbowl)

i had a great time last weekend and id like to go again. i know the area really well at this point and theres lots of neat things out there. i really dont care if its a hard core trip or not so post if you have interest and we can adjust routs to suit what vehicles are going. with any luck our reluctantly truckless camera man will be on this trip, so you can expect full media coverage as standard with this desert safari, getaway package.

if you twist my arm, we can go in some mines :P

im not sure the open diff would be ok on duran where we took our pictures. Scott may be a better judge of that. if not theres plenty of interesting places we can go out there....kramers arch is pretty neat

we got there about 1045am and left at 5ish pm. that was only with two trucks but we covered alot of ground. if you take the easy route to bismark(famous mine) and head right back i think you could do it in 3 hours. i plan to spend the day out there by driving all over the place but it certainly dosnt take long to go through calico on the fire roads.

Sounds good...not interested in just fire roads though. Looking for some fun stuff as well. I think my truck is up to par. It's an 86 4runner on 33's, lifted and locked in the rear with sliders.

im going to change the official date to the 8th seeing as i would imagine most will want to watch the game and for simplicity sake, but feel free to figure out what works best for people and group up acordingly...calico is a fun place! dont miss it!

well strangly i havnt gotten a call from them today. but yesterday they told be it was leaking from the breather tube. that sounds like an easy fix but no call yet. ill be pretty bummed if they dont call tomorrow but i would think its near a given that they will be done.

i havent had time to work on it, more pressing issues at hand lately. hoping to get on it maybe next weekend (got rained out this weekend). also starting another project soon, so id like to get it done asap, but im afraid the new money pit will have to take precedent over my skid.
