Thinking about hitting a weekend of shows in May since plane tickets are super cheap.

I like good small venues and being close to the music. Looks like that place has potential for such things.

Yeah, the Crystal Ballroom is great and has been since even before McMenamins bought it and cleaned it up a bit. If you get to Portland sometime in the afternoon, hit Powell's bookstore at 12th/Burnside. "Le Pigeon" on Burnside also http://www.lepigeon.com/ is a pretty good place. Doesn't look like much, but the food is pretty good.
