Just picked it up tonight! It's a 1943 Mosin-Nagant Model 1891/30. It is stamped 1943. It was produced for standard issue to all Soviet infantry from 1930 to 1945. This one has all matching numbers, and appears to be in great shape, stock is even in good shape to be as old as it is.

Shoots a 7.62x54mm round (anyone has a lead on a great place to pick up this ammo, I'd be very appreciative) and has a 5 round magazine. Let me know what you think! (Especially you Fuster, as I know you are reading this!)

Anyway, on to the pics!!

Here you can see the 1943 stamp, look closely you will also notice the hammer and sickle stamped there also.

picked this one up for $100 even. Not bad around here. Seen them at gun shows a year back going for about $80. But recently they seem to be going for about $115-$125.

Good Times

nice toy!

You can find em at your local Big 5 if they still stock em for about the same price that Chris got em for (especially when they're on sale).

With a non NATO round foreign make gun like that, I'd look into reloading for cheap abundant ammo. Although some of those prices listed above are almost 'reload cheap'. Nice rifle! 3 of my bros-in-law have them. I love the bolt guns....

Have you smoked it yet?

Not yet. nowhere in the immediate area to shoot that is clear of other people. Going out to the range tomorrow, but I've only got 17 rounds of russian surplus. :) So I'll prolly shoot 12. lol. Keep 5 around till I get some more ammo.

Nice looking M91/30 Chappy!! Also a '43? I assume its probably an Izhevsk also??
If it's a Tula, thats a slightly rarer gun.
