'94 with a 3.0 the idle at times is really low to the point it missfires and bucks. also, when taking off between first and second gear, it will usually buck a little till the rpms pick up. i read somewhere the tps sensor can be at fault, something about burnt up contacts inside it. can someone elaborate or help point me in the right direction.

Sounds like it could need a tune up along with a TPS check. You can test a TPS, I'm not sure on yours but I'm sure it's on the net somewhere. Might also be the IAC valve. Mine idled low at start up and would stall even if I reved it up. It would have to stall at least once for me to start it and have it stay on. Cleaning the IAC valve and MAF sensor fixed this.

i would try cleaning your idle air control valve, IACV. cheap and easy, in addition to testing your TPS.

if you find your IAC valve gunked up, check your PCV valve, and probably go ahead and replace it. when they fail they tend to suck oil into the intake, gumming up the IACV.

thanks for the info. as far as a tune up, just did plugs, wires, and cap/rotor in hopes it would help. it helped, but still have some small issues. i will clean the iac. how do you test the tps to see if it is ok? and how do you clean the vane air flow sensor? i have the crc mass air cleaner stuff in my garage
