A guy in our local club has one, they are pretty cool. Has vacuum actuated lockers. The time he brought it out was awesome.

He works at a place called "Go Westy" and he said that some of the guys he works with have some built ones that do some crazy stuff.

Toyota used to import the 4X4 cargo van it came with an auto 4Sp trans and auto 4X4 with high capacity a heat and dual ac. I was a very cool unit. It was 1987 and I used to demo them by backing up the embankment to the loop 820 that drove around past FT. Worth. Too bad no one saw the potential as a portable camper unit. it came with larger 20in front tires and 20inch rears it was completely gutted out it also had a 2.2Lt engine the out preformed the VW. great ground clearance and would have made some one a fun custom camper. I posted these the other day on another forum so I might as well post them here. It's the yota 4x4 van and it is pretty impressive for such small tires. It supports the 22re and the ifs system is very similar to the one found on the 86-95 pickup and 4runner including the aisin manual hubs.

Since you can pick up these vans for probably under $1k, I think it would be a very unique and fun project.
