After the my last minute trip to Big Bend in Feb with my DD 97 4runner http://www.ultimateyota.com/index.php?option=com_smf&Itemid=26&topic=7381.0 , I decided I needed a more secure and organized way to haul the must haves and still have room for myself.

So the wheels started turning in my head and I took into account what I wanted accomplished: Dog barrier, gear mounting, interior panel protection. Also have pack gear in the back while having the option to sleep in the 4runner. So pictures are better than words..

the tubing system is a work in progress that I'll probably remake once I situate all the gear I want to carry. The plan for the Dog barrier is to make a para cord net to the upper portion of the hoop that can be removed when not needed.

The drawers are a combination of 1/2" and 3/4" birch. They are the width and height of one side of the rear fold down seat and extends the length of the rear cargo area to the door. Total Home Depot cost with wood and drawer sliders was $113.

I can think it up and if it's metal I've got it handled but a thanks to my wood working buddy PH.

I am also planning another long solo trip leaving the end of next week back home to Northern Ca from Houston. I decided to take the Ramsey 9500 from my unfinished trail rig and installed it.

*Nick needs an excuse to wheel out here and visit family huh? ;)

Give us a shout if you want to via pm, I could use another excuse to get out of town for a little bit.

Cool. Where in Norcal are you headed? I've got a 9K Mile Marker in my garage that I'm thinking of unloading. Let me know if you're interested since you'll be up here.

Yea, an excuse in a way. I have had a rough year personally and I feel it's time to reevaluate my proirities. I have resigned as the Designer and Prototype Fabricator of Shrockworks and am looking to get back to why I started in this industry. I am moving back to the Rocklin area. My family is big into 4 wheeling and local trail conservtion so I'd like to get back to places like the Rubicon and enjoy wheeling them with the family and friends as well as help keep them open before it's too late. Meanwhile Shrockworks is still implementing plans we've made with the new shop to improve the one major weakness which is our lead time. I'm glad I had the privilage of being able to design products at Shrockworks for the Toyota market as well as the JK's,Gen 2 Nissans and Ford. They are a great group and the guys in the shop are some of the best craftsmen I've worked with. As for me there may be a possibility of me working on some designs for Shrockworks from Ca, other than that I'm up in the air on my future job situation.

Looks good man, NorCal has been lacking a major player with your skillset in the Yotafab business for awhile. Sounds like there's a future in it for you up here if you so choose.

Rocklin is a great place to live and close to a lot of wonderful wheeling!

Sounds like the safe move all things considered. The market's tough right now, and that has to be playing a major role.

I'd recommend RubiconExpress or one of the bigger players if you are even still thinking that route, as for myself, I'm giving up on my initial dream job and looking at the school stuff for now. I figure if I were to really look at Industrial Arts or even reconsider engineering that I could conceivably end up working for a larger pool of employers giving me better financial security and the focus I used to have as far as my recreational time.

Ultimately I see your being back out here as a sign that is how things are meant to be as far as you all. I was glad to hear you got a job @ Shrockworks but at the same time knowing it split things up family wise meant sacrifice for possible success. Remember to come out of this in a focused and positive mindset and everything else will fall into place.

Yea, just need to get back to the wheelin but the more I wheel the more I can help think up ways to improve the vehicles for the specific needs. My dad just picked up a 97 runner, I have several ideas I'm working on.... I'll see if I can convince him to move over from his 85 runner :D
