Congratulations! First one, right? Is it stupid to ask if you're nervous?

Yep, first one, she's maybe 4-5 weeks late and we're definitely a little nervous, who wouldn't be, but she's worked hard to get her diabetes under control so if we can get past all we've encountered so far I hope we can handle this. We feel truly blessed and pray all works out. We've gotta move out of here by the end of June so I plan on figuring out school and work stuff this week..basically what financial aid needs/wants and same for work. I really think staying in the area for now would be a wise choice, then once I have my "piece of paper" finally make a better decision then. *I am so sick of the S.F. Bay Area but giving the economy, I want to make a safe choice.
I just want her to be as de-stressed as possible you know. It's funny how long we've been trying and once she stepped out of her prior responsibility all it took was a month for things to start falling into place.

Lockers are a hard sale once there is a baby. It would have to be one of those things you got for "fifty bucks on sale" or something you've had "stashed in the garage for at least a year." Used stuff is good because it is cheaper but it can pass as one of those things you "bought a long time ago. So long you don't remember."
Everything is new. Cooking, sleeping, driving, etc. We have a lot of friends and family that have been helping which is nice although we still never know what to make for dinner and there seems to be piles of laundry everywhere.
I'm really lucky though because my wife kicks ass and our baby is pretty chill all things considered.

Thanks everyone. I had my first "Oh God I'm gonna be a Daddy" dream last night and woke up half scared and laughing that I'd end up with a boy as hyper and adventurous as my brother and I were...then I thought "Oh God, what if it's a daughter?" Hmmm. time to save up for 18 years worth of medical for a boy or register a shotgun pretty quick. ;)
I'll keep this thread updated over the next nine months. As I said, the hardest part is yet to come, we really have to watch her blood sugar.
As for the locker, I honestly think I'm deciding to just put (squirrel) money away and when the time's right just consider getting a 4wd 4runner (3rd gen or engine/drivetrain swap), maybe even another 60 series or even an 80. :D

My wife is pretty healthy but she went all hardcore during the pregnancy. Sure she had little, and I mean like for maybe a day, cravings but nothing too bad. Towards the end our midwives had her eating more protein for the blood production but other than that she was good. No soda, coffee, wine, beer, junk food, fast food, probably 2 steaks, no hot dogs, etc. She drank some prenatal tea all the time and was on a huge supply of vitamin and herbs, I think she took 8 a day. I think at the end she had gained less than 40 pounds and I bet more than 85% of that is gone now. I think a healthy mind set is key. Start early and keep it going as it needs to remain even after the baby is born. If you're good by that time it'll be routine and be passed on to the baby.

It's being a member this site I'm telling you. It all starts w/ understanding the "I ate the Sand" t-shirts Chris had made.
Maybe we should make some up for the Mommies, "I drank the water!"
