Had some free time and extra parts laying around so I decided to piece this together. The projectors are the E55 bi-xenons, covered with the Minigun/Gatling gun shroud which cost a pretty penny.

Used a heat gun to remove the covers:

How did you power these, separate control box or transformer or something?

They are powered by Hella 35watt HID Ballasts from a BMW X5. Left the stock wiring in place as I made my own relay harnesses to power the Low beam, High beam, and stock fog lights.

Interesting, did you do a write up for that mod too?

Hahah...left that part out as I was anxious to install them :hillbill:

I just ran a basic fused relay which is positively triggered for the low beams. Once the headlights are turned on, power is sent to the HID ballast. The high beams are negativley triggered, once powered it activates the soleniods in the projectors to lower a shield which lets out all the light (super bright).

Wow I can't believe I missed this right up (only a year after it was done...)

I was just just wondering if you could do a bi-xenon bulb with projectors.
How does the pattern spread in high beam mode?
Do you think it would be possible to just us an H4 bulb or do you have to use the BMW lights?

Just curious cause I want to got to HID's soon and just exploring a lot of options (who knew so many existed lol!!!)

Nice work. For anyone interested in doing a mod like this, I am doing a group buy on the retrofit kits:
